Additional Information: The Jean Paul Ohadi Scholarship was established by the Jean Paul Ohadi Foundation in memory of Jean Paul, who passed away in 1998. Jean Paul was a 19 year old boy who suffered from bipolar disorder and was also harassed because of society's prejudice against his sexual orientation. The Jean Paul Ohadi Foundation was formed to help organizations aid in the treatment, education, support and understanding of these issues. Each year the PFLAG Deerfield Chapter has helped in the selection of young people who have submitted evidence of their academic achievement and their involvement in the LGBTQ community.
