Number of Awards & Eligibility: Two awards offered annually. One winner will be selected for each of the biannual deadline dates.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. and international students.
  2. Must be majoring in science.
  3. Must be accepted to or enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program.

Additional Information: R&D Systems provides this award twice annually for the purpose of assisting science students, worldwide. Selection will be based on a combination of factors, such as academic achievements as demonstrated on the student's transcripts, as well as the insightfulness and overall quality of written submissions. Finalists will be notified within two weeks of the deadline date, and may be asked to provide additional information to verify eligibility and payment procedures. Students who are not currently enrolled in an accredited college or university are not eligible to receive a scholarship award.

Award Amount: $1,500 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,500.

Applications and additional information about the R&D Systems Scholarship can be found online using the provided links. To apply for this award, students must complete the online application form. A completed application will require submission of: personal, academic, and contact information; an official or unofficial copy of transcripts for all coursework completed; and two written statements. The first statement may be up to 500 words in length and must address the applicant's career goals, and how he or she plans to advance the world's understanding of science with their degree. The second statement must be 200 characters or less and must address what the applicant sees as the biggest hurdle for those who are working in their specific field of study. All applications may be submitted through the online application form, email, or postal mail. Completed applications must be received by the deadline date.
