Better Business Bureau Foundation (NE, KS, SD, IA)
$2,000 annually, non-renewable. Scholarships must be applied toward tuition and/or room and board. Scholarships will be distributed directly to the recipient's postsecondary school upon verification of his/her enrollment.
Twelve awards offered annually. A minimum of one award will be presented to a student from each of the following areas: Omaha metro area or southwest Iowa; Lincoln metro area or greater Nebraska; The Kansas Plain; and South Dakota.
Scholarship recipients will be selected by three independent panels of judges from the academic and business communities in metro Omaha, metro Lincoln and metro Sioux Falls and will be awarded based on the following judging criteria: academic, 5 percent; leadership, 20 percent; community service, 20 percent; recommendations/nomination, 20 percent; and essay content, 35 percent. The names of the award recipients will be announced by the Better Business Bureau in April. The students will be officially recognized at one of the BBB's Integrity Award luncheons held in Omaha and Lincoln, Nebraska in September. Please note: Students who enter the competition as juniors but are not recipients may apply again as seniors.
