In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must be 14 years of age or older at time of application.
  2. Must be a legal U.S. resident.
  3. Must be a resident of one of the 50 United States or the District of Columbia.
  4. This award is for U.S. students.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This award is open to all U.S. students who are 14 and older and who are currently enrolled (or enroll no later than fall of 2027) in an accredited postsecondary institution of higher education. One scholarship winner will receive a $1,500 scholarship.

Additional Information: All students, regardless of academic merit or financial need, are encouraged to apply. The sponsor is looking for eligible applicants who follow directions and submit applications that are well-written and clearly and creatively address the topic. On or about May 29, 2024 a qualified panel of judges will select one potential winner based on the criteria of writing ability (25 percent), creativity (25 percent), originality (25 percent), and overall excellence (25 percent). In the event of a tie, the potential winner will be the applicant with the higher score for overall excellence. Current employees, officers, directors and agents of sponsor and its related companies and members of their immediate families (defined as spouse, parents, siblings and children) and persons residing at the same address are not eligible to win. Void where prohibited.

Award Amount: $1,500 annually, non-renewable. The Scholarship prize will be in the form of a check made payable to the accredited postsecondary institution of higher education attended by the scholarship prize recipient (once the scholarship prize recipient has enrolled in an accredited postsecondary institution of higher education and submitted proof of enrollment to the sponsor). The scholarship prize recipient must submit proof of enrollment on or before Dec. 31, 2027.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,500.

Applications are available online. A complete application must include name and contact information, background details, academic details, and a short original, previously unpublished written response to the scholarship topic: "Not every gift has to be expensive or extravagant. In fact, sometimes it's the sweet and simple things that make a real difference in our lives. Think back and tell us about something you received as a gift and why it meant so much to you." The student's written response must be written in English, with correct spelling and grammar, and it must not exceed 250 words. No substitutions of new drafts or corrected pages will be accepted once the student has submitted his/her original application. All applications become the property of the sponsor and will not be returned. The sponsor assumes no responsibility for lost, late, misdirected, or unintelligible entries. Applications must be submitted online by 11:59 pm Pacific Time on the deadline date. Limit one application per person.
