Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of awards offered varies annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  3. Must be enrolling in the upcoming year as a first- or second-year undergraduate student.
  4. Must enroll at a public Idaho or Nevada institution of higher learning.
  5. Must have demonstrated volunteer involvement in at least one charitable activity benefiting the community.
  6. If an applicant's cumulative grade point is below 2.8, he/she will be seriously considered only if he/she is able to convince the Scholarship Selection Committee of a high desire to advance his/her education.

Award Amount: The award amount varies annually. Awards are non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $4,600.

Applications are available on the Idaho Community Foundation (ICF) website. Please note: The student may apply for all scholarships for which he/she is qualified; however, a separate application and supplemental materials must be submitted for each scholarship. In addition to a completed application, the student must submit the following materials: five one-page essays addressing the topics listed on the application; a copy of his/her most recent high school transcript, report card, or unofficial/uncertified college transcript; a 250- to 300-word essay about the importance of giving his/her time to help others; a short essay about how he/she has demonstrated a unique contribution to his/her community; two letters of recommendation; and a 100- to 150-word essay about his/her desire to advance his/her education (required only if his/her grade point average is below a 2.8). Applications must be emailed to the address provided by the deadline date.
