Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident.
  2. This award is for U.S. students.
  3. Must be majoring in aeronautics.
  4. Must be a student member of EAA (membership is free), or obtain sponsorship from an EAA member.
  5. Must be an undergraduate student at the time of application.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This scholarship is available for U.S. undergraduate students who are currently enrolled in an aeronautics engineering program at a college, technical school, or aviation academy. Students must be recommended by a current Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA), Inc. member or be a current, active member of the EAA in order to receive this scholarship.

Additional Information: The applicant must be well-rounded, and involved in school, community and aviation activities. His/her academic record should show that he/she can successfully complete the educational activity for which he/she is requesting the scholarship.

Award Amount: $5000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $5,000.

Online application forms are available on the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) Aviation Foundation, Inc. website. As part of the application, the student must write a personal statement of 500 words or less addressing the items listed on the application, and submit contact information for two references (not family members) who are familiar with his/her scholastic performance and/or work and volunteer activities. Students may also be requested to provide official high school and/or college transcripts. Applications must be received by the deadline date.
