In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  2. Must be a graduate or undergraduate student.

Description: Attorneys at Godoy want to give back to first generation immigrants or the child of a first generation immigrant through this scholarship. Students must be enrolled in an accredited higher education institution and have a minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher. The winner must be enrolled for the spring semester.

Application requirements for the The First Generation Scholarship are:

  • Essay
  • Official Transcript

Additional Information: To apply for this scholarship, interested candidates should provide the following: - A current resume with contact and education information, - An official or unofficial academic transcript, and - An essay of 700-1,000 words discussing the obstacles you have faced as a first generation American and how those experiences have shaped you into who you are today. - All applications must be submitted by email to [email protected] with a subject line: “[Applicant’s Name] - The First Generation Scholarship” on or before the deadline to be considered for this award.

Award Amount: Up to $1,000 offered.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.
