Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for international and U.S. students.
  2. Must major in surveying (or in a closely related field, such as geomatics or surveying engineering). Preference will be given to applicants from programs with a significant focus on geodetic surveying.
  3. Must be enrolled an eligible four-year degree program.
  4. Must enroll full time.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This award is for U.S. and international undergraduate students who are enrolled in a four-year degree program in surveying (or in closely related degree programs, such as geomatics or surveying engineering). Students who will graduate prior to December 2018 are not eligible.

Additional Information: This scholarship is awarded by the American Association for Geodetic Surveying (AAGS). Scholarships are awarded based on the following criteria: academic record, 30 percent; applicant's statement, 30 percent; letters of recommendation, 20 percent; professional activities, 20 percent. Degree of financial need will be used, if necessary, to break ties, after the primary criteria have been considered.American Association for Geodetic Surveying (AAGS)

Award Amount: $2,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $2,000.

Applications are available on the National Society of Professional Surveyors (NSPS) Foundation website. In addition to the completed application, the applicant must submit the following materials: a brief, yet complete, statement indicating educational objectives, future plans of study or research, professional activities, and financial need; three or more letters of recommendation (at least two from faculty members familiar with his/her work); a complete, original, official transcript through the end of the school year prior to when the award will be presented; and a copy of his/her unofficial transcript for the fall semester (as soon as it is available). Please note: The applicant must be a student member of the American Association for Geodetic Surveying (AAGS) to qualify for this award. The applicant may apply for membership in AAGS at the time of application. The applicant should mail all materials in one envelope. Applications sent by fax or email will not be accepted. Incomplete or improperly completed applications will be discarded. Applications must arrive at NSPS headquarters no later than 5:00 p.m. EST on the deadline date. Late applications will not be accepted.
