Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of awards offered annually varies based on funding levels. Last year, 25 scholarships were awarded.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  3. Must be a high school senior or older to apply for this undergraduate award.
  4. Must attend or plan to attend the University of Nebraska at Lincoln, Kearney or Omaha.
  5. Must be a resident of Colorado.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: High school seniors or currently enrolled students may apply for this undergraduate award. Students must be residents of Colorado planning to attend the University of Nebraska.

Application requirements for the Coloradans for Nebraska College Scholarship are:

  • Application form
  • Recommendation letters (3)
  • Interview (finalists only)
  • Official Transcript
Additional Information: The scholarships will be awarded based on scholastic achievement, school activities, extracurricular activities, career goals, and financial need. Finalists selected for the scholarship may be interviewed by the Coloradans for Nebraska Board of Directors or by the Coloradans for Nebraska Scholarship Committee. A presentation ceremony will be held in late April to announce the winners of this year's scholarships.

Award Amount: $1,500 annually, non-renewable. Scholarships will be awarded on a semester basis of $750 per semester. Students must maintain a 2.5 (C+) average to receive the second semester scholarship of $750.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,500.

Applications are available online from the Coloradans for Nebraksa website. Please note: There are separate applications for high school seniors and current college students; the student must be sure to use the appropriate application for his/her level of study. In addition to the completed application, each student must submit the following: high school or college transcripts (as appropriate); three or more letters of recommendation from scholastic, personal and general references; and a photo of himself/herself. The application form and supporting documents may be mailed or emailed (Word and PDF attachments accepted) to the scholarship chair using the addresses provided by the deadline date.
