Number of Awards & Eligibility: Three awards offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen or legal resident.
  3. Must be enrolled or accepted for enrollment at an accredited four-year undergraduate institution located in the United States.
  4. Must be a full-time student.
  5. Must have achieved a cumulative high school grade point average of 3.0 or higher.

Description: This scholarship is open to U.S. undergraduate students who are enrolled full time at a four-year college or university. Students must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher and have submitted a FAFSA.

Additional Information: The student must have filed a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). The FAFSA is available online at www.fafsa.ed.gov, at high school guidance offices, and at college financial aid offices. Students from all disciplines and fields of study are invited to apply. Scholarship recipients are selected based on the following factors: academic achievement and financial need; grade point average of 3.0 or higher; and the application essay. Recipients will be announced on the DutchCrafters Facebook page on July 1. A formal confirmation process will begin once winners are announced. Two reserve finalists will be selected by the scholarship committee in case winners cannot validate/support financial and academic claims/allegations made in their applications resulting in ineligibility. Scholarship recipients will be selected by the scholarship committee appointed by JMX USA, which includes JMX USA employees and appointed volunteers. All scholarship recipients may be subject to a criminal background check. Recipients of a DutchCrafters Amish Furniture Heritage Scholarship shall not commit any act that indicates dishonesty or moral turpitude or that otherwise could materially injure the DutchCrafters reputation. If such an act is committed by a DutchCrafters Amish Furniture Heritage Scholarship recipient, the award shall immediately be revoked. In no instance will any director or officer of JMX USA play a part in the selection. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final. Employees and relatives of employees of JMX USA, the company that owns DutchCrafters, are not eligible to apply for this scholarship.

Award Amount: $500 annually, non-renewable. Disbursements of the award will be made in two increments of $250 each, one for the first semester and one for the second semester of the academic year. The award payment will be forward by DutchCrafters directly to the college or university for distribution. The actual award amount will not exceed the total cost of the student's tuition, fees, books, supplies, room and board and other allowable expenses, less other gift aid known at the time of application. The scholarship award is contingent upon full-time enrollment.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $500.

Applications are available online on the DutchCrafters website. In addition to a completed application, the student must submit the following materials: a statement of 250 words or less describing his/her need for financial assistance; and an essay of 750 words or less that describes how he/she will draw upon his/her cultural heritage to shape his/her vocational aspirations, offer creative value to his/her future employer, and serve his/her community. Applications must be mailed to the address provided and cannot be faxed or emailed. Applications must be received by the deadline date. Applications arriving at 12:01 a.m. or later on the morning after the deadline date will not be considered.
