Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must be a college sophomore or junior who is currently enrolled in an accredited degree-granting institution.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  3. Must demonstrate community service and involvement.
  4. Must enroll full time.
  5. Must have a grade point average of 2.5 or higher.
  6. This award is for U.S. students.
  7. Must demonstrate financial need.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Applications are available online from the Alpha Kappa Alpha Educational Advancement Foundation, Inc. website. In addition to the completed application, the student must submit: three letters of recommendation; official transcripts from all colleges attended, scanned as an attachment; a personal goal statement (to be completed within the application); and a Financial Needs Analysis Form available online. Applications and supporting materials must be submitted online by the deadline date.
