Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of awards offered varies annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  3. Must be a college sophomore, junior, or senior.
  4. Must have declared accounting as his/her major or shown intent by taking four or more accounting courses.
  5. Must enrolled as a full-time student, or working and enrolled part time.
  6. Must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
  7. Priority will be given to applicants who reside in the Peninsula Silicon Valley Chapter area.
  8. Must attend Skyline College, College of San Mateo, Canada College, Menlo College or Notre Dame de Namur University.

Description: This scholarship is open to U.S. college sophomores, juniors, and seniors who are majoring in accounting or show intent to major in accounting by having taken four or more accounting courses. Students must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher and must attend one of the following eligible colleges: Skyline College, College of San Mateo, Canada College, Menlo College and Notre Dame de Namur University.

Additional Information: Scholarships will be awarded to students with an interest in pursuing professional careers in the accounting field. Applicants must attend one of the following colleges or universities: Skyline College, College of San Mateo, Canada College, Menlo College, or Notre Dame de Namur University.

Award Amount: Awards range from $500 to $2,000 annually, and are non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,250.

Applications are available from the California Society of CPAs (CalCPA) and may be obtained by contacting the current program associate. As part of the online application, the student must submit the following materials: a copy of his/her transcripts from all colleges/universities attended within the last five years (unofficial acceptable); an official transcript in a sealed envelope from his/her current college/university (must be requested electronically via the online application); and a one-page essay describing his/her career plans (specific areas to be addressed listed on the application). Applications must be submitted online by 11:59 p.m. PDT on the deadline date.
