Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of awards offered varies annually. Last year, six awards were given.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be an American citizen or permanent legal non-citizen.
  3. Must be Latino or Hispanic.
  4. Must enroll in six or more credits each semester.
  5. Must have a grade point average of 2.75 for high school seniors or 3.0 for college students OR have a GED score of 2,925 points or higher.
  6. Must attend a university, college, or technical institution in Dauphin, Cumberland, Perry, Lancaster, York, Lebanon, or Adams counties in Pennsylvania.
  7. Must reside in Pennsylvania.
  8. Must be a high school senior, GED graduate, current undergraduate college student, or non-traditional student. Please note: An adult or non-traditional student is not defined only by age (usually over 24); he/she also has life circumstances different from the typical traditional student. What makes adult students unique from other students and similar to each other is the multiple roles they assume in order to attend college.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: U.S. Hispanic high school seniors, GED graduates, and undergraduate college students are eligible for this award. Students must attend an institution in Dauphin, Cumberland, Perry, Lancaster, York, Lebanon, or Adams counties in Pennsylvania; students must have a grade point average of 2.75 or higher if a high school senior or 3.0 or higher if a college student.

Additional Information: A total of eight hours volunteer service with EUP events is required, preferably in the month of July.

Award Amount: $1,000 annually, non-renewable for full-time students. The amount will be pro-rated for part-time recipients.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.

Applications are available online from the Estamos Unidos De Pennsylvania (EUP) website. In addition to the completed application, the student must submit the following materials: an official high school or college transcript; a recommendation letter from a guidance counselor or professor; a copy of his/her class schedule (high school seniors must also submit an admissions letter); and a typed essay of no more than two pages, double-spaced, in 12-point Times New Roman font. Specific topics for the essay are listed on the application. Students must also file the FAFSA (Federal Application For Student Aid). The FAFSA is available from high school guidance offices and online from fafsa.ed.gov. The application and supporting materials must be mailed to the address provided, and be postmarked by the deadline date.
