Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of awards offered varies annually. Last year, 14 scholarships were awarded.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  3. Must have an overall grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
  4. Must enroll full time.
  5. Must demonstrate an interest in a career in flexography.
  6. Must be currently enrolled in a FFTA Flexo in Education Program OR be currently enrolled in a postsecondary institution offering a course of study in flexography.
  7. Must be a high school senior, college freshman, college sophomore, or college junior at time of application.

Description: This award is available for U.S. high school seniors, college freshmen, college sophomores, or college juniors who are currently enrolled in a FFTA Flexo in Education Program or are currently enrolled in a postsecondary institution offering a course of study in flexography. Students must also have an overall grade point average of 3.0 or higher.

Application requirements for the FFTA Scholarship are:

  • Application form
  • Official Transcript
  • Personal statement
  • Recommendation letters (2)
  • Evaluation by a school official
Additional Information: Applicants must exhibit exemplary performance in their studies, particularly in the area of graphic communications. The FFTA Scholarship Committee evaluates the applications and determines each scholarship recipient based on the applicant's personal statement, the evaluation by a school official, the applicant's relevant experience and coursework, and overall grade point average. The scholarship recipients will be selected and notified in May. Alternate winners will receive scholarships only if a primary winner becomes ineligible during the scholarship year.

Award Amount: $3,000 annually, non-renewable. Each scholarship award becomes official when the recipient is enrolled in the approved college for the year in which the scholarship has been granted. Students may reapply each year.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $3,000.

Applications are available online on the Foundation of Flexographic Technical Association (FFTA) website. In addition to a completed application, the applicant must also submit school transcripts, a personal statement between 200 and 250 words in length addressing the topic listed on the application, an evaluation by a school official on school letterhead, and two references from other teachers and/or graphic arts professionals. The deadline at each school for the collection of applications will be established by the faculty and will be publicized accordingly. All scholarship applications must be submitted to the FFTA by an official representative of the applicant's institution no later than the deadline.
