Number of Awards & Eligibility: One or more awards offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for international and U.S. students.
  2. Must be a high school senior, college freshman, or college sophomore at the time of application.
  3. Must have a grade point average of 2.5 or higher.
  4. Must self-identify as a gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender person, or ally.
  5. Must have a history of community service.
  6. Must be a resident of or attend college in Colorado.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This award is available for U.S. and international high school seniors who self-identify as a gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender person, or as a supporter of gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender people. Applicants must have a grade point average of 2.5 or higher and must reside in or attend college in Colorado.

Application requirements for the PFLAG Denver Chapter Scholarship are:

Additional Information: This scholarship is provided annually by the Denver, Colorado PFLAG chapter to recognize, assist, and encourage young people who have demonstrated outstanding, direct support to the lesbian, gay, bi-sexual, transgender, and questioning (LGBTQ) community.

Award Amount: $2.500 to $5,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $5,000.

Applications are available at the Denver Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG) website. In addition to a completed application form, students must submit the following items: two sealed letters of reference - one from a teacher or faculty member, and one from an individual who is familiar with the applicant's community service efforts; a sealed, official transcript; and a signed and completed release form acknowledging the student's acceptance of the terms & conditions associated with this award. All application materials and supporting documents must be submitted online by the deadline.
