Number of Awards & Eligibility: One scholarship will be awarded each year.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must be a current or incoming college student.
  2. Must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
  3. Must have an interest in working with those who were convicted and sent to jail or has experienced the same thing themselves.

Description: To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must be enrolled in college, graduate school, or be a GED holder who are about to attend college; they also must show good academic standing by holding a GPA of 3.0 or higher. The recipient of this scholarship will have demonstrated their interest in serving the less privileged in our community.

Additional Information: Since 1998 Mark Sherman has been committed to serving his clients and enabling justice to be had, and prides himself on giving them the highest level of professional care. Following this mission, Mark has established the Juvenile Justice Scholarship to support up and coming lawyers. The Law Offices of Mark Sherman, based in Stamford, Connecticut, is pleased to announce that we are offering a scholarship in the amount of $1,000 to one student who has an interest in working with young people who have already been convicted of a crime and been sent to jail. We want to support them in seizing new opportunities and giving them the means to be a success in their community. This student may have also experienced and overcome adversity in their life and can relate to these juveniles who are rebuilding their lives once out of jail. Award Amount: $1,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.
