Number of Awards & Eligibility: Varies, all eligible students will be considered.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must be a current freshmen, sophomore, junior, or senior level college student.
  2. Must have a cumulative college grade point average of 2.0 or higher.
  3. Must be admitted to Ouachita Baptist University.
  4. This award is for U.S. students.
  5. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  6. Must plan to enroll as a full time student (12 or more credit hours per semester).
  7. Must attend college or university in Arkansas.

Description: This award is available to U.S. undergraduate students who are planning to transfer to Ouachita Baptist University. Students must have a cumulative college grade point average of 2.0 or higher.

Additional Information: Ouachita Baptist University is a church-related, liberal arts university whose aims are to meet the educational needs of students and to prepare students for places of leadership and service. OBU Transfer Student Scholarship are based on cumulative transfer GPA at time of acceptance.

Award Amount: Award amounts are based on the student's cumulative transfer grade point average at the time of admission to OBU and are renewable for up to three additional years (less prior semesters attended at another institution) by maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 2.0 or higher. The annual award amounts are as follows, student with a grade point average of: 2.0 to 2.49 will receive $2,500; 2.5 to 3.49 will receive $5,200; and 3.5 or higher will receive $8,500.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $32,000.

To apply, students must apply for admission to Ouachita Baptist University (OBU). A separate scholarship application is not required. Interested students must contact Ouachita Baptist admissions by phone, e-mail, mail, or website to request an application packet, or apply online from the college website. Along with the completed admission application, students must submit the following materials; an official high school transcript, ACT or SAT scores, and two recent photographs. Students will be notified of decision by an admission counselor once all application materials are received. Applications for admission are reviewed on a rolling basis. Priority consideration will be given to applications submitted prior to March 1 of the award year.
