Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of awards offered varies annually and is dependent on the qualified number of applicants.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must have been a member in good standing with Phi Theta Kappa for at least one year by time of submission of UA admission application.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  3. Must have completed 36 or more college credit hours upon application to the University of Arizona.
  4. Must be a resident of the state of Arizona.
  5. Must plan to complete 30 UA credits each academic year.
  6. Must plan to transfer to the University of Arizona.
  7. This award is for U.S. students.
  8. Must have a recalculated cumulative college grade point average of 3.50 or higher.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: U.S. students who are Arizona residents and have been members of Phi Theta Kappa for one or more years are eligible for this award. Students must be planning to transfer to the University of Arizona with 36 or more transferable credits.

Additional Information: The Phi Theta Kappa Award is a highly competitive tuition scholarship offered to the very top Community College Transfer students pursuing their first bachelor's degree who have been a verified Phi Theta Kappa member in good standing for at least one year by the time of submission of the UA admission application. Offers will be based on funds available and the strength of the applicant pool.

Award Amount: $5,000 annually, renewable for one additional year as long as the recipient maintains a grade point average of 3.0 or higher and completes 30 credits each academic year. This scholarship is available for fall and spring semesters only.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $10,000.

Scholarship information is available on the University of Arizona website. Students will be considered for this award upon admission to the University of Arizona. Admissions information and applications are available online at admissions.arizona.edu/transfer/transfer-applications. Applications are available online or in .pdf. In addition to a completed admissions application, the student must submit a $50 non-refundable application fee and must request official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended (even if credit was not established) to be submitted directly to the University of Arizona. Students must be admitted to the University of Arizona by June 1 for scholarship consideration.
