Millions of Scholarships, personalized results
Fun scholarships could be unique, silly and weird contests or essays. These scholarships don’t ask you to fill out long and serious forms. They may be weird and wacky, but you are likely to smile when you apply. In fact, they are more like sweepstakes and contests and don’t take too much time to complete.
To apply for fun and easy scholarships, you often need to fill out a simple form. It may ask for your name, email, where you go to school and other details. However, if it asks you to submit any money, it is likely a scam. So, make sure it’s legit before you click ‘submit’.
Some scholarships will have you submit an essay, photo, video or other project. If so, follow the requirements to a T. Many are random draws, but for others, there may be a panel who chooses the winner(s). They tend to look at applicants who stick to the directions.
You may find fun scholarships from sources other than schools. A good rule of thumb is to check with stores, game providers, and groups you look to for entertainment. In fact, many of these awesome scholarships will likely make you say “What? I could get a scholarship for that?”
There are fun scholarships for high school and college students. To be eligible for one, you need to first check who it is for. Most providers do list rules about age, citizenship and education.
As a college student, there are many fun scholarships to help offset the cost of your degree. One example is the Minecraft Scholarship from Apex Hosting. This $2,000 scholarship is for college (or high school students) who are US citizens and carry at least a 3.0 GPA. To apply, you need to write a 500 word essay. It should say how Minecraft can be a positive influence on education and career growth. Once that is done, you fill out a form, attach the essay and you are good to go.
One that will make you LOL is Unigo’s Make Me Laugh Scholarship. This $1,500 scholarship should make the judges crack up. All you do is describe an incident in your life, funny or embarrassing (fact or fiction), and make them laugh. Essay must be 250 words or less.
Here’s another fun scholarship called Duck Brand Stuck at Prom Scholarship Contest. To celebrate Duck Tape fans, they are giving out $20,000 in cash scholarships to high school students.
All you have to do is make the best prom outfit out of Duck Brand Duct Tape. You can document your journey to prom style in a short video or written essay. Plus, once the voting period starts, a live voting counter lets you see the results in real time.
It doesn’t take a ton of serious effort to apply for fun scholarships, yet the payoff can be seriously helpful. The money you get from a scholarship is not like a loan, so you don’t have to pay it back. Plus, the funds may offset tuition, fees, housing and other school expenses. Scholarship programs could help you spend more time on your studies instead of worrying about your finances.
According to the National Center for Education Statistics, the average for all these expenses is $17,237 at a public college. In contrast, a private nonprofit college costs double at $44,551! It’s important to apply to scholarships to graduate college, debt-free.
