My overall opinions of Jefferson community and Texhnical college is a place where if you’re not ready to go into a high education level. JCTC is just right for you because it helps you to be prepare and success in the future. There are so many familiar faces from high school because most of the students are having hard time finding scholarships or pay for high tuition.

Overall nice school for it to be a community college, but coming from a university to an community like this took some time to get use to. Classes are very much smaller and it’s not really a campus. Can’t really do the things you would do at a university

What is your overall opinion of this school?

As a current student of Jefferson Community and Technical College (JCTC), I have already gained a solid opinion of this school only after 2 semesters here. I chose JCTC as the first step in my college journey and used it as my "educational gap year" until I figured out my major and where I wanted to transfer. This school is good for that transitional period, but it isn't one that I would want to stay with long term. Here, I have gained an understanding of how college classes are run, how to balance homework, class, and work, and some basic skills (e.g. studying). That being said, the JCTC campus I attend doesn't offer many opportunities for students to get involved. There aren't many (if any) clubs or study sessions, and there is only one main social area with limited chairs and room. Though this school lacks in the social and "college experience," areas, JCTC still offers good academics and easy transferring programs.

I think Jefferson Community and Technical College is a great community college! Although there is some aesthetics and such that need to be taken care of, the staff care about the students and their education.

What is your overall opinion of this school?

I love it especially at the southwest campus. It is a great education for a good price, i'm not having to pay an arm and a leg for my education like at UofL. I have many friends that go to bigger schools that cost a lot more and I don't hear the best things. I feel like the faculty actually wants to help me learn at JCTC.

What is your overall opinion of this school?

I absolutely love this college. I thought that it was going to be too hard and that I wasn't going to be able to do anything worthwhile here because they accept pretty much anyone, but it's not like that at all. The people that attend there are very nice, most of the time. The professors are always willing to help. They understand about life, and that it can get in the way sometimes. They're always so caring and they actually help you try to get your grades up if you're not doing too well. I know that after attending this college I would recommend it.

What is your overall opinion of this school?

I love it, it has everything that I need and look for in a school. As a recently graduated high school student I was looking for a college that was two years, along with a small campus size. I wanted those things because I didn't want to be too intimidated my first few years of college.

What are the most popular student activities/groups?

I often hear about the English Conversation Club. It is one of my favorites due to the fact that you can actually converse with people from all different countries... even continents. It adds to the diversity level that makes Jefferson a strong--bold school.

Describe the students at your school.

The diversity is great and everyone can be there own individual without having to worry about "not fitting in," when everyone is so different you have no choice but to fit right in.

What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

The advice that I would give myself as a high school senior is to try harder. When I first entered college I treated it like I was still in high school, and I got some grades that I wasnt to happy about. So I ended up having to repeat some classes, which meant more time and money that I had to pay. Also I would have told myself to be more of a social butterfly and get to know more people. Everyone that is attending a new college are nervous, but you shouldn't let that stop you from meeting new people and experiencing new things. There are so many different people out there that you can gain knowledge and experience from. You only have a few years in college so I would try to make them the most wonderful and infomative years of your life.

What's unique about your campus?

The best thing about JCTC is the small, student-based campus. You don't have to walk or tram 2 miles just to get to class, it is small and everything is close together. I love that I started out here, it is a great place to begin your college career. All the proffesors and advisors are very welcoming and warm, you dont feel like an outsider or mistreated. I would recomend JCTC for anyone coming out of high school!

What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?

The only bad thing about JCTC is you can only go as far as an associates degree. You get so aquainted and use to the small family-like campus that you love and then have to go to a bigger, larger campus. But I would still recomend this college to anyone coming out of college.
