Lincoln College is an amazing school that is really affordable and has a lot of great opportunities like the Career Lynx. It gives students a chance to build their skills and have a chance on campus to work for the school. They have it to where everything is accessible to every student and give a chance to bond with everyone especially the events they have at their school.

The college is a very fun campus. Not because of parties or anything like that. It is because it is very involved. You can easily create your own groups, and there are a lot of free resources out there for the students. Its a very relaxed and happy environment.

What is your overall opinion of this school?

I really enjoyed my years at Lincoln College with the help of me improving my study habits I increased my GPA from 1.25 to a 3.07 with the aid of some of professors. I didn't really have a issue with the faculty at all, and the Academic Success Center is very useful there.

My overall opinion of Lincoln College is that it is a great school to earn your Associates in but then you should transfer to another school in order to further your education. Overall, it is a school designed to help you get your associates not a school designed to help you get a major.

What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

I would probably tell my senior self to buck up and just do it. I skipped a music audition at a big school and completely abonded my dream of becoming a band teacher and director all because I didn't think I was good enough and I was scared. I know now that some things are scary and new things always will be, but that doesn't mean you should just back out. If you don't even try then doing well isn't even an option. You should never, ever, ever let fear get between you and your goals and dreams, now or in the days to come. Take a chance in yourself. Know that you are worth all the great things you dream about. The people who matter will always love you and you should always love you too. I would make sure to tell myself, "You can do it. Never believe anything less than that, and don't undermine yourself." Dreams come true, but only if you make them. It's ok to be afraid; everyone is at some point. Go do you!

What's unique about your campus?

The best thing about Lincol College is probably the how easy it is to get help on your work and how much the teachers will work with you if you just ask. There are accomodations for students with documented disabilities, free tutoring for virtually every subject, and teachers will take time to help you one on one if you take the time to ask. The work load is always managable and I believe anyone can do well here if they put in the work.

What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?

The worst thing about Lincoln College is the complete lack of respect that a lot of the students from the city have for everyone from their peers to school officials. People here are very judgemental and rude. There is supposed to be a rule of civility carried out here, but if it was fully enforced there would only be about 100 students here. That is why I mostly keep to myself and a very few teammates. No one has any courtasey for anyone but themselves.

What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

I would sit down with myself, look myself in the eyes and say "You are going to be ok but you need to put more of an effort into what you do. Actions speak louder then words, so follow through with your choices. If you really are passionate about something go for it, otherwise talk about what you're not interested in and seek career counseling. Lincoln College in Lincoln IL, is a great place for you to start. Yes there is a lot of work to be done but there are a plethora of resources avialble to help you succeed. Please dont give up if you fail or make one simple mistake. Get up and set several alarms. Most importantly: DO THIS FOR YOU!!!"

What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?

I would consider the worst thing about my school to be the food. It is hardly edible and two weeks before school lets out its never fresh. Its distasteful but I have to eat it because I am on the meal plan.

What's the most frustrating thing about your school?

The most frusturating thing about my school is that there is not a specific center for career placement. The teachers do give websites for us to use but do not place us in internships. I would like to see more paid internships in the future.

What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

Look early and look often. When I say that I'm talking about schools, jobs, scholarships, investments/savings, apartments if the school doesn't have on campus living, and pretty much anything else. The transition isn't hard at all, in fact it feels normal. The only difficulty was being unprepared and mainly in the financial area. You need to be looking and applying for scholarships everyday and be sure you're putting more money in your account than you are taking out. College is an expensive investment, but an investment with priceless benefits.

What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

To my pas high school self. Make sure you take your time when making your disicion on where you want to go to school. When you get there make as many friends as you possibly can. There are going to be hard time and easy times. You are going to meet people that you do not get along with, but that is okay becaus differences with be forgoten in time. When you are playing baseball you need to treat every game like it is your last game you will ever play because you never know when your baseball career is going to end. Always treat people with respect and alway give 110% in to what ever you set your mind to. At the end of the day just know if you gave all the effort you can give and things still dont turn out how you expect them too, just keep your head up and keep trying because the only person that can hold you back is yourself. If you fallow this advices you will have a very successful college career and happy fulfilling life.

Describe how your school looks to someone who's never seen it.

Lincoln college a okay place to get an education to transfer to another school.
