The school is overall very disorganized, does not communicate with students properly, and seems under-staffed. Their funding seems quite poor which reflects in a lack of resources, lack of support, and no pro-student improvements. The setting in inner-city Baltimore doesn't help the situation (most of our funds seem to go towards security, even though we still have lots of crime). The school has a good reputation, but the students who attend are all miserable and can't wait to graduate. Do yourself a favor and consider other options for your sanity.

I feel fortunate to be a part of its legacy as University of Maryland School of Nursing was founded in 1889 by Louisa Parsons, a graduate of the Nightingale Fund School at St. Thomas' Hospital in London.

In order to have life satisfaction and to be able to function as a valuable member of the medical team a high level of education is essential. In order to gain respect from colleagues and team members a college diploma is a necessity. As a single parent struggling to make ends meet education will enable me to earn more income to support my family.
Excellent learning environment, but you must remain focused in order to complete your education. For the typical undergraduate, it is a tough program, but not impossible. University of Maryland has opened a window for exposure to not only great nursing instructors, but excellent clinical environments that have aided in my education.
University of Baltimore offers Forensic Studies which has been my intrest since middle school. The atmosphere and people are warm, welcoming, & made me feel at home from day one.
If a student lacks focus it can be very easy for them to not be able to do well at this school and turn a 4 year degree into a 6 year one.
The stress level between studies and clinic requirements. Very little allowance for family and personal life.
