It has a beautiful campus full of nature and the occasional deer. I've never run into a rude student there and even made some close friends. I loved most of the teachers I've had. The teacher in charge of my major is not only one of the best teachers I've had but also one of the nicest people I've ever meant. Even some of the more boring classes were made interesting and engaging by the teachers. Of course, there are some teachers I didn't like but none of them were horrible. I highly recommend Hagerstown Community College especially if you're going into art. They are extremely passionate about art.
Overall, the college offers a variety of avenues for students to succeed. The college has areas such as the tutoring center and library services that help with maintaining a student's integrity and work ethic. The food on campus can get expensive and repetitive at times, but nonetheless, it's pretty good and they offer a variety of meals to accommodate for certain dietary restrictions, allergies and preferences.
Hagerstown community college is small but growing as a school we try to improve our faculty and facilities every semester. We continue to grow as a campus and a prominent member in the community. The campus is spread out enough to where you can get to classes in a timely mannner which is the main objective in a community college.
Overall my experience at Hagerstown Community College was mixed due to some personal issues during my time there. I had to withdrawl classes due to disability and they denied my disability. At the time, they had a policy that if you dropped one class due to disability, you couldn't do it again which is very unfair because life is unpredictable. However, I haven't been there since 2016 and am told that this policy has since changed. I enjoyed the classes I took and the teachers were generally good.
The fall 2020 acceptance rate for Hagerstown Community College is 100%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020 , _____ students were offered admission. The number of males who applied was _____ vs the number of females which was _____.
If I would give myself advise, it would be to work hard. Although you may get tired, the work that you put into our education is well worth it.
Hagerstown Community College is best known for encouraging students to take advantage of all possible resources including information reguarding financial aid, extra curricular activities and events, as well as help with courses such as tutors. In each building there is a Learning Center for that perticular building that allows students to take advantage of tutoring opportunities and also work with each other while completing homework, or studying for classes.
I wish I would have known that if you buy a book in the college bookstore that you can not return the book even if it is not opened without a drop slip.
My classmates are all study prone, they get thier work done early though i like to keep mine just before the day to turn it in to make sure there are not alot of mistakes. Most of my classmates are in their first semester and are a little irriatating and care free but when it comes down to it they get the work in and on time.
my school has a medium sized campus but easy to get lost in if you dont know where to go but the people are friendly so you can ask just about anyone which building your classroom is in. There are a number of activities including salsa dancing and guitar lessons. We hold track meets for the other highschools in the area and its fun to go down and watch so much spirit in the indoor gym.
Hagerstown Community College has dedicated teachers that strive to not only teach what we need to know for the course but also to help us succeed. The professors take the time to assist students in any way that they can always inviting us to use their office hours and submit work before the due date to be reviewed and discussed. Every professor I have experianced is very knowledgable, dedicated, and student oriented. It has made my first two semesters at college enjoyable and successful.
The beauty of this community college is that anyone can attend. There is such an amalgam of people that attend this college that you can't assign its students as being apart of one particular sub-culture or in-group. As a result, there is not a sense of judgement or tension on campus. You simply can't feel out of place on campus because you will always find at least one person that is analogus or relatable to you in some way.
You should not attend this school if you are not focused on learning and getting an education to better your future. If you just want to go to a school and party all the time or hang out with friends this is not the school for you. There is a strong focus on learning and teaching here at this campus.
For me the community college, gave me the opportunity for a great education while being able to stay close to home. I work full-time and have a family of my own. I needed a fast education to help me provide for my family as well as prosper in the career world.
The best and worst thing about HCC is that is is a community college. The small college atmosphere is perfect for a returning student; however it only offers two year and certificate degrees. Expanding their programs to include four year degrees would be a great asset to the school and community.
I brag about my low tuition and great professors.
