Silicon Valley Community Foundation plans to award $5,000 in scholarship funds. North Carolina Sheriff’s Association Undergraduate CJ Scholarship
College Foundation of NC offers up to 12 awards each year with a total of $2,000 in funds. There are four levels of priority for these funds. (1) must be the child/step child of a NC Sheriff or Deputy Sheriff. (2) child/step child of a NC law enforcer killed in the line of duty. (3) child/step child of a deceased or retired NC Sheriff or Deputy Sheriff. (4) Eligible NC CJ students who shows need.

Law Enforcement Benefit Scholarship
Winston-Salem Foundation offers this scholarship. It is for dependent children of slain officers from the Winston-Salem Police Department, Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office, or N.C. State Highway Patrol. Eligible students are high school seniors. Or enrolled in a postsecondary school. It is also necessary to file a FAFSA and show financial need. As a need based award, amounts vary.

National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives Scholarship
NOBLE offers three annual financial need based named awards. One of $2,500, one of $2,000 and one of $1,500. They are for African American U.S. high school seniors who meet criteria. Applicants must have a GPA of at least 2.5. And, be going for a degree in social sciences (e.g. forensic and criminal investigative studies). All with the intent to further a career in law enforcement or CJ.

Arkansas Law Enforcement Officers’ Dependents Scholarship Program
Arkansas Dept. of Higher Education offers this award. It is for state residents who attend an Arkansas state college. Applicants must also be the spouse or dependent child of a resident killed or permanently disabled in the line of duty or public service position. Award amounts vary and cap at $8,428 per selectee.
