Adoption STAR offers a confidential, reliable, experienced, passionate and compassionate authorized and licensed non-profit adoption agency. Since 2002, Adoption STAR has provided prospective adoptive parents with scholarships to adopt children with disabilities, who they fondly refer to as Shining Stars.

Shaundrika Taylor Cancer Foundation Scholarship
The Shaundrika Taylor Cancer Foundation, Inc. Scholarship was established to support of young adults affected by cancer, and are pursuing higher education. Recipients are selected by a committee based on applicants’ personal hardship and financial need. Must be enrolled in or accepted to an accredited institution.
Canceling Cancer Scholarship
The scholarship is open to any current high school senior, college student or graduate student who is a legal resident of the United States residing in one of the 50 states or the District of Columbia and who is enrolled in a two to five-year post-secondary institution for the upcoming semester. Candidates for this scholarship should have a minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher and be in good overall academic standing.
Disability Scholarship
Independent Life Home Care is dedicated to improving the lives of disabled students, helping them live the most independent life possible. The $1000 Disabled Student Scholarship, offered by Independent Life Home Care, is open to disabled students currently enrolled in a college.
ABC Law Centers Cerebral Palsy Annual Scholarship
ABC Law Centers will award one scholarship per year in the amount of $1,000 to a student who has cerebral palsy. The Cerebral Palsy Scholarship will be presented to a single applicant. Applicants will need to submit all required application materials outlined below by the deadline of July 31st.
Anders Tjellström Scholarship

Hydrocephalus Association’s Scholarship Program
The Hydrocephalus Association’s Scholarship Program was established in 1994 to provide financial assistance to capable and promising young adults who live with the ongoing challenges and complexities of hydrocephalus. They offer a total of eleven scholarships annually in the amount of $1000 each.
KFM Making A Difference for Autism Scholarship
KFM Making A Difference is an organization focused on spreading disability awareness and giving scholarships for students with autism to pursue a post-secondary education. The organization hopes to “make a difference” in the lives of all of those with special needs. The winner will receive a $500 award.
Adults with Autism Scholarship
The Adults with Autism Scholarship was created to provide financial support for eligible adults with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) who are pursuing a post-secondary education. The number of scholarships available depends upon the amount of funding available and the assessment of the scholarship review committee. $1,000 is awarded.
Newcombe Scholarships for Students
There are four different scholarships. Newcombe Scholarships for Students with Disabilities?support completion of degrees by students with disabilities who need financial assistance at selected colleges and universities. During 2015-16, Newcombe Scholarships averaging $1,385 were awarded to 387 recipients at ten institutions.
