WMU Foundation Scholarships The WMU Foundation provides a variety of scholarships for Southern Baptist missionary kids and individuals preparing for missions service. It was set up in 1995 by Dr. Dellanna O’Brian, a former executive director of national Women’s Missionary Union (WMU). They also have two available endowments for Missionary Kids and their homeschooling missionary parents.
Create-A-Greeting-Card Scholarship Contest U.S. residents aged 14 or older who will be attending school in the fall are eligible to participate. Applicants must design a greeting card.
George Snow High School Scholarship The George Snow Scholarship Fund offers a wide variety of scholarships, each with their own criteria. However, the most common criteria is that applicants demonstrate financial need, motivation to do their best and to help themselves/others. Amounts vary, but the average award in 2019 was $12,500.00.
Cakes for College Scholarship The Cakes for College Scholarship is available for graduating high school seniors at Cashmere, Eastmont, River Academy, Wenatchee or Westside High Schools in north central Washington State. Applicants must plan to attend Wenatchee Valley College.
Michigan Homeschooled Faith Scholarship This scholarship is available for homeschooled students in Michigan who are practicing and active Catholics. Applicants must attend Ave Maria University in Florida to be eligible for the award.
Tortoise Young Entrepreneurs Scholarship The Tortoise Young Entrepreneurs Scholarship is being offered to Kansas and or Missouri area high school seniors and college students who have demonstrated an entrepreneurial initiative. Applicants must also meet the academic requirements, including a 3.3 or higher grade point average.
FIRE’s Free Speech Essay Contest This scholarship is open to juniors and seniors in U.S. high schools, including home-schooled students, as well as U.S. citizens attending schools overseas. Scholastic Art & Writing Awards: Gold Medal Portfolio Award The Scholastic Awards look for work that demonstrates originality, technical skill, and the emergence of a personal voice or vision. This award is for students attending U.S. or Canadian schools, or American schools abroad. Students must be in grades 7-12 and submit a written work or original work of art.
Patriot’s Pen Essay Writing Contest U.S. students enrolled in grades six through eight are eligible for this award. Students must submit a typewritten essay between 300 and 400 words in length on the current year’s topic.
Voice of Democracy Scholarship Program U.S. high school students in grades nine through twelve who are 19 years of age or younger are eligible for this scholarship. To apply, the applicant must write an essay on the theme listed on the Veterans of Foreign Wars website and record the reading of that essay; submit both essay and CD/flash drive to be considered for this scholarship.
