I lived on the Killington campus and only really participated in Killington culture. When I joined the program, it quickly became clear there's two camps of students who attend. The first are interested in business management and want to get into the resort industry. The second are ski/bike bums whose parents are making them get a degree. Both groups can succeed here, so it depends on what you're looking for.
Castleton sought out the students affected in the nursing program at Southern Vermont College. Due to SVC's closure at the end of the summer 2019, they have gone the extra mile to make sure we have a teach-out plan in place to finish what we have worked so hard to do for the past 3 years. This was heart-breaking news, but Castleton has been very accommodating.
I personally think that most of the pros and cons about Castleton University are based off of its size. Since it's a pretty small school, the students are very well connected with their professors and with one another. Opportunities are easy to find and the campus is very easy to navigate. Vermont in general tends to be a very safe area and the Public Safety crew at Castleton University is extremely competent. On the other hand, there is not a whole lot to do in the area. Due to this, there tends to be a lot of partying on weekends to compensate for the lack of structures activities in the community.

Castleton State College is very well known to be environmentally friendly as well as actively involved in the local community. Unlike other undergraduate institutions, Castleton has successful ties to local high schools and elementary schools, mentor programs, and local businesses. Castleton students take great pride in their work with the populace in the area surrounding the college, drinking in the experience and knowledge they gain.
The sceience department in general. Everyone is awesome so long as you work hard and strive to succeed. I see a lot of professors as friends and mentors rather than just teachers, I work with them, do research with them, travel with them, they are like extended family and help me so much to succeed at school and outside of school.
I wish I had known more about how many general requirements this college needed. If you don't know what you want to do, this is a great school for you, but for those of you who wanted to get started on your major, you have to go through a few frames of refrences.
The showers at the ellis dorm. THe teachers are great, the food is great, the education and lecture rooms are great, but the showers need to have hotter water and more privacy.
i tell my friends how the size of the school is perfect..the dorms are nice, there are tons of renovations going on so there will be many new buildings. I also tell them that the people there are always nice.
amazing

Some are quite hard workers, some do seem to not care and just do whatever they feel like though. Those who are hard workers do an extremely good job keeping their grades up and setting an extremely good example for thier fellow students.
The most frustrating thing is finacial aid, and finding a job on campus. If you don't have a car, your going to have a harder time getting a job.
People that like small classes and know what they want to do.

All students must apply yearly for financial aid. This process starts with the FAFSA. Though financial aid deadlines vary by school, it is a good idea to apply as soon as possible.
