I think that York college is a good place to learn. With this pandemic I miss going to campus and being able to learn face to face. However online classes at York are extremely helpful and accessible to students. They send out weekly updates and professors are very caring.
CUNY York College is a great school. Just like any other school it does have its up and downs when it comes to the need of providing for its students. The diversity life of the school itself makes it impossible to feel isolated or alone for there’s always someone of whom you can relate to. The students are friendly and everyone is willing to help you if the need arises. However when it comes down to be being on top of your academics it better for yourself to be both the organizer and also the “proof checker”. The items that you may be working with may be misinterpreted if you only rely on others opinions or even your own personal counselor to only do the work. It’s fairly easy for things to get overlooked sometimes which can later cause problems in the long run. York College is here to help you, but you must also help yourself.
When I transferred over to CUNY York, I was surprised with how they handled the transfer credits and how the faculty were ready able to assist with any questions or concerns I had in regards to the academic program I was enrolled in. There is always a multitude of aid that can be found between classes, instructors, tutors and office hours! Even between students, there are study groups usually formed to challenge the work in the course. I do not regret transferring and meeting the faculty, staff, and students whom are at CUNY York!
CUNY York College has a great Social Work program. This will be my second year in the social work program and I can say it has helped build my knowledge and leadership skills. I have been apart of multiple student initiatives and activities on campus.
The fall 2020 acceptance rate for CUNY York College is 41%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020 , _____ students were offered admission. The number of males who applied was _____ vs the number of females which was _____.
The best advice that I could give to myself or anyone going into college is that college is no game. High school was fun and you were able to fool around a little and make friends, but that was then and college is now. You need to leave that high school mentality behind, because if you take college too lightly it will most likely hurt you in the end. As long as you keep your priorities in order and make time for yourself for leisure, you should be fine and have a great college experience.
I would say the best thing about my school is the tuition. Its not to expensive and if you quilfy for financial aid you may not have to pay out of pocket.
I don't think that there was anything bad about York College. The only think I could think of is that Political Science classes were limited. There weren't many Political Science professors. It made it difficult to take core classes when I was ready. Everything else was great.
York College has a variety of races, classes, majors, so if you are looking for a rich diverse community, York is the place to go.
I wish I had known about the steps that it takes to select a major for important postgraduate programs.
The school is best known for the extracurricular activities that the students themselves hold (ex: dance competitions and events), as well as the ability of the working students to attend evening classes (flexible schedule available).
The only type of people who should not attend this school are people who are not responsible enough to complete the work required for these college courses.
The thing i found most frustrating at York college is student service offices. Before anything students have to deal with admission office, financial office etc. but in my opinion they are serving a very poor quality job. Their main goal should be to give accurate imformation and also helpibg new students coming to college but mostly there are fights outside offices with office stuff and students. This ruins the whole environment and also draws a bad reputation for the college
At CUNY YORK College, my classmates are very attentive and helpful to each other. At times when one of us are not able to attend the class to to family emergencies or illness, my classmates make sure that I recieve the notes from the class that I had missed. They will either email me the notes or give me the notes over the telephone. So my classmates are reliable.
I believe that anyone who wants a great education should attend this college. People who dont like to be in large classes where there is no time for one on one with the student and the professor shoul attend this school. There is also a great learning enviornment.
I brag about the on-campus movie theater, the gym and the availablity of buses into the city.
I liked the face the culturally i caters to alot of people from different cultural backgrounds. I also liked the fact that the school is very helpful when it comes to my needs like financial aid or tutoring, because sometime you need that extra help when needed. The teachers are very dedicated as well as helpful to their students. The area of the school is good as well, because is very accessible to people.
