Drexel University is a pay-to-play school: if you don't have the money or the grades to afford the school, there are few opportunities. But, for those (like me) who received enough in scholarships in grants, there are more than enough resources and opportunities to make the college experience worth it. The food is overpriced for mediocre choices and quality, and the housing quality is excellent, but with a price much too high. Overall though, I absolutely love it here in Philly as a Dragon. I'm proud to brag about my school, but I'm also aware of problematic policies and professors from the school.

Campus doesn't have many hip restaurants or places to congregate Saxby's is one of few. Professors often not interested in mentoring or making time to answer course content questions. Advisors have poor comunication and loooong email response time. Summer sessions have very limited course selection. Disappointing experience after high expectations, not student friendly.

I love it here! Drexel University is right in University City in Philadelphia with Center City just one stop away on the subway. It is so conveniently located! The class sizes are pretty good too. The lectures have about 200 students, however, each class has a Recitation/Discussion class that you must also attend. I find this even more helpful than the lectures themselves especially because there are usually about 30 students in these classes and we go over specific practice problems and it's more personal. The TA's here are very well educated, and the professors are always easily accessible.

I like attending Drexel University. It's close to home, so I'm able to commute, but it is also a little expensive. Most professors in the eng department are mediocre and may be more focused on their research than the performance of their students - although, as usual - if you make an effort to get to know a professor, they usually respond pretty well. Drexel runs on the quarter system (10 week terms), which makes classes really rushed and hard to manage. But it also offers the co-op system, which is basically one or three 6-month internships, depending on your package (4 years vs 5 years). All in all, Drexel is a great place to go if you don't mind hard work and responsibility and getting a head start in the workplace.

Overall, I believe that Drexel University is an amazing school with plenty of opportunities available for you to take advantage of. From their co op program to the their study aboard programs, there are plenty of ways for you to get introduced to your field and explore other cultures! There is a steep price associated with this school but if you have the means, apply!

What is your overall opinion of this school?

Drexel has this system that squeezes you for money for just about every service you can imagine. The issue with this system is that it works so well because Drexel's academic facilities and campus life convince students that all the money being forked over is completely worth it. It's hard to complain about the price of Drexel because I honestly do feel like I get what I'm paying for as far as academics comply. One of the biggest issues with Drexel is the quality of living. The campus is surrounded by places to get supplies for basic living but, everything is just so much more overpriced because it can be.

Drexel is definitely not for everyone - ex. quarter system, co-ops, location, expense, lack of school spirit. Personally, I really enjoy Drexel and it's definitely a school you go to if you know what you want to do after graduating. I surprisingly like the quarter system a lot since it allows me to take more classes than I would elsewhere and includes co-ops. The only downside is the cost - Drexel is extremely expensive and charges you for everything you do.

What is your overall opinion of this school?

Drexel is very well-known for the co-op program, but it is not the only thing that catches everyone's attention. The courses are intense and vigorous. The professors are driven by ambition. The atmosphere is usually busy with every student doing their work or studying but it pays off in the end. I like the fast-paced courses because it shows how much progress I am making. It taught me not to take time for granted.

What is your overall opinion of this school?

Drexel University takes pride in its quarter system. Each quarter lasting only ten weeks compared to the normal fifteen of the semester system, there is a whole lot of cramming. Some students love the quarter system, they take an enormous amount of pride in doing what others do in fifteen weeks, in just ten. At the end of each ten week period they come out like proud hunters holding their kill high above their heads. For myself, however, I can barely hold myself up, let alone a metaphorical kill. Drexel fosters a competitiveness between the institution and its students that is perpetually negative. I literally own a shirt that was given to me for free that states "Drexel Vs. Everyone". That's the joke. If you like feeling like you've just narrowly escaped Satan's grasp every ten weeks, Drexel is the place for you. If that's not your style, then 3/10, would not recommend to a friend.

Drexel is a very nice university but is expensive for the working student and overall students in general. The University offers a while of courses both online and on campus which is a must for a working student like me. I feel the staff are friendly and work to help a student who has questions or needs help.
