I love LeTourneau. The first thing that really swayed me to choose LETU was the community. I also really enjoy the Christ-centered learning environment that the school has to offer. All of the professors that I have had start the class with a devotional, reading of the word, or a Christian song that really helps one think and center their minds around the Lord.
I have met some of my best friends at LETU who have been with me through ups and downs.
I am very thankful for the Lord guiding me to LETU and that this school has blessed me with.
I loved Letourneau University the moment I set foot on the campus. The staff, professors, and students give a great environment for learning and getting to know one another on a personal level. The professors really care about their students and want to help them succeed in any way that they can. God is the center of the campus and I love that!
LeTourneau University is a Christian school with a very strong Christian heritage. It was started by a well known, dynamic and brilliant follower of Jesus Christ who made his living inventing earth movers and construction vehicles. Mr. R.G. LeTourneau left a great legacy for many to follow and one of his favorite verses which directed all that he did was Matthew 6:33 (look it up).
As a result of our founder's expertise and ingenuity in engineering our most successful and well known program is Mechanical Engineering. Other engineering courses and our aviation department are next in line when it comes to history and success.
As great as the program, facilities and most importantly faculty are at LeTourneau, the success of a student that decides to attend LeTourneau largely comes down to their commitment and determination to put in the HARD work needed to learn and successfully demonstrate learning. The curriculum, especially in the engineering department, is quite rigorous and many freshman often drop out or change majors as a result. That said however, the faculty and staff here at LeTourneau are sincerely committed to our success and will do whatever they can to help. Many professors are known to be gracious in giving extensions and individual support when legitimately necessary and beneficial.
Spiritual growth is an emphasis at LeTourneau. But just like with academics, the amount of growth a student will experience here is largely dependent first on the grace of God which He freely gives to all who will receive it and secondly on their desire and commitment to following the Lord Jesus Christ. Don't come here expecting everyone to be God honoring followers of Jesus Christ. There are some of us students that couldn't careless about following him, and the results are pretty clear.
Do come here however, knowing that if you are willing to lay down your life for Christ's sake and the sake of the gospel you will find save it, and God will connect you with many awesome students who are following him faithfully. These students are those who will walk by you through the tough but ultimately rewarding journey of a disciple of Jesus Christ, even after you graduate from LeTourneau.
A review on the other less important but relevant details about LeTourneau like campus housing, food, and the social life can be found through my ratings and choices to the questions. But remember, those are just my opinions and each persons individual background and lifestyle will inform their opinions on those topics.
I hope you can find a good school that is best fitted to you and your desires. If LeTourneau happens to be the one you choose, AWESOME! Let me know when you're here and we'll grab coffee some time :)
A great college academically. Not a party college, but heavily scouted by companies. If you don't mind the mandatory chapel or bible classes then it is a great college for getting a job. Professors are aprocable and care about your success. It is by no means an easy college load but it is possible to do as long as you diligently work at it.
The fall 2020 acceptance rate for LeTourneau University is 44%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020 , _____ students were offered admission. The number of males who applied was _____ vs the number of females which was _____.
To begin, this is not the first University that I have attended. It is the third, and I truly appreciate and enjoy the fact that it is a Christian, Bilble based, instituion. I thouroghly enjoy the GAPS program, and wish that I had known about it a lot sooner. I would probably have two bachelors degrees by now and a masters.
Everyone has been really understanding and positive. They truly want to see people achieve the goal, of the education that they desire. Not all schools are like that. Some Universities strive to make classes so difficult, that there is no way that you can pass the course by only taking it once. They want you to have to repeat courses, in order to increase school revenue.
The students are very close to one another, and the professors really try hard to connect with the students.
Strongly Christian students who are seeking to a strong Christian education along with their academics
The ratio of girls to guys is pretty low. It would be nice if there were more girls to hangout with, although it is not as if there were no girls on campus.
Not being able to have access to the same amenities as a larger campus such as bigger kitchen, free ice and water, etc.
If you are looking to party and fool around this school is not for you. This school is for people who want a great education.
All my classmates are very helpfull and freindly, they helped me with homework and I even became close friends with many of them.
i think what i knew beforehand was sufficient, although it certainly wasn't a lot. i learned a lot more once i got here, about campus, classes and life
LeTourneau University is a conservative school geared towards engineering students.
Providing several online courses and having the accelerated Graduate and Professional Studies(GAPS) program for adults. The semestersare three 5- week modules. In other, words a 3 hr. class only takes 5- weeks, then you move rapidly on to the next class.
I believe the people here are the best part about my school. I have met so many awesome people who have the same mindset as I do. My friends want to work hard and do well in school, which is way different from high school. However, they are still interested in having fun and doing crazy, buy compeletly legal, activities whenever possible!
The vibrant spiritual activity and the aviation program.
