Texas A&M University-Kingsville is a good school for engineering but that's it. Do not come here if you're a medical student because there is no facility for that. The atmosphere is not that great if you're a tidy student. There are always people smoking outside of buildings. Some classrooms are so old that we need to move to others that projectors. Overall, this school is not that great.
As long as you pick a major that you are completely in love with, then you will be happy here. It's a small community where students are nice and teachers are helpful. You get plenty of personalized attention from teachers since the class sizes are small. Freshman are forced to live on campus fro their first few semesters but it isn't a bad thing since there's usually quite a few events going on in dorm buildings or on campus that are a lot of fun. There isn't a lot to do on weekends in Kingsville, but with Corpus on a 45 minute drive away, it's not too hard to find something fun to do. Overall, this is a cozy little town where you'll feel right at home if you come from a small city like I do.
TAMUK is a great University. The classes are fun and you do get to learn more information you might haven't known before. The students who attend there are nice and not rude. Yes, there isn't much stuff to do in Kingsville but the campus has many activities for when you're bored, overall TAMUK is a great school.
Kingsville is a very small town and it can get boring, make good friends and you'll always have a good time! On the weekends 80% of the student body leaves back to their hometown so the town is pretty calm. Football games and tailgates are super exciting and most definitely something everyone should experiance!
The fall 2020 acceptance rate for Texas A & M University-Kingsville is 82%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020 , _____ students were offered admission. The number of males who applied was _____ vs the number of females which was _____.
Now as a Senior, i had such a great time. I remeber when I first started, I was lost and curious of many things. I wondered who would help me get though college and what was going to be planned for me as a senior. My experience here was crazy and at a fast pace. I joined organizations,( ROTC) that made me strong both mentally and emotionally. My freshman year was blind but as i started to push forward i was able to familiarize myself with my surroundings. I got a job which has helped me gain experience for my future, until now im able to work with high school students to get them on the same track as i am now. I assist them with applying for ACT exams, Finacial Aid, Scholarship and other issues to get them to get into universities. Attending college has always been rewarding, an education no one will ever be able to take away from me. With an education i will be able to further myself in life to find a career and live a happy stabled life. im greatful for what i have gained thoughout my college experience.
Every student at TAMUK is unique in every way. On a daily basis I see new people, each of them different than the last. From what I have seen, practically every student here is quite intelligent. In high school I usually was the top contender in my classes but at TAMUK things are completely different. I have made several good friends by helping each other out in tough classes or with difficult professors. Right now it is summer time but I want to head back to campus soon and start meeting new people and seeing my old friends again!
Texas A&M Univeristy - Kingsville is a school that focuses more on engeneering and pharmacy careers.
The small hometown atmosphere. The professor/student ratio is at a minimum to keep learnin in an intimate setting.
I wish I would have known that everything was going to be easy and fun. I stressed out about moving away from home only to realize that the people here are so friendly that they make it comfortable to be living away from family. The professors are also really nice and understanding whenever something comes up; therefore, the classes are easy if you do what you're supposed to (study and go to class).
The worst thing about my school is the too-quiet adn boring weekends.
This is a friendly school, and the classroom size is perfect. The professors are excellent and they care about the students. Academic advising is awesome. I returned to school after being out for 10 years and my advisor helped me schedule my classes without any trouble. She informed me which classes to take to improve my G.P.A, and called different departments to find information. This advisor is not with us no more, but I will always remember her-Dr. Anderson. Also, I want to thank everybody in the Social Sciences department, because they are the very best!
Somone who doesn't mind a quiet campus, with very few entertainment options in town.
People who think you can only attain a valid education by attending a large and reknown university. As well as people who think since this university is small that it is acedemically easy to receive your degree.
The most frustrating thing about my school is when your trying to sleep but your neighbor from across the hall in the dorms has the music real loud and it doesn't let you fall asleep you just keep waking up and waking up.
Form my expericen i would say that a&m kingsville is best known for being a good size shool. The classrooms allow one on one with the professor, and more likely your professor will know your name by the end of the semester. The campus isnt huge so getting to class and getting lost isnt a problems. Also this university is know for its Engineering program, which has received a high rank among the nation, making it the best school. The last thing i would say the peole you meet from all over the country. very kind and understanding people.
The engineering and music departments are EXCELLENT. They really need to invest more into the music department; their facilities are embarrassing when compared to other universities'.
One of my favorite things about studying at Texas A&M University- Kingsville is the academic environment. Because it is a small university, most classes have a student-faculty ratio of 16:1. This is an advantage to students because it gives every student a chance to have one-on-one instruction from the teacher. As a recent graduate, I can recall every one of my professors' names and they remember me too. My favorite class was French Civilization and Literature. It was a study abroad class and I had the opportunity to spend a week in Martinique, a French island in the Caribbean, while learning the language. My least favorite class was Geology. Class participation varies from class to class, but I noticed the most participation in my junior and senior level classes. My department is Communications and Theatre Arts. It is a small department, but it is a great place for opportunities. For example, I was part of the school's newspaper, The South Texan, since my freshman year, and I served as Editor-in-Chief during my senior year. I also had the chance to participate in a weekly TV newscast with the Radio TV Club. Overall, the education offered at Texas A&M University- Kingsville is a valuable one that prepares its students for a future career.
The best thing about Texas A&M University- Kingsville is its faculty and students. After my first semester, I knew I had chosen the right school for me. The professors truly care about the success of each and every student. It is even easier to achieve such success through one-on-one instruction from professors. Although it's a small school, it provides several opportunities in areas such as: engineering, agriculture, wildlife, music, and sciences. I spent most of my time at the Memorial Student Union Building, which includes the campus bookstore, game room, Starbucks, Subway, Chick-fil-a, and much more. One of the exciting things about the university is that things are always changing for the better. Recently, the campus received the addition of a new dining hall and a new residence hall. There are also plans to update the Memorial Student Union Building. In my opinion, TAMUK is lucky to have such an amazing administration that is interested in the needs and wants of the students. There is such an awesome atmosphere at TAMUK and it is because of the school pride each and every student demonstrates!
the sports on campus are very well known nationaly the football team is one of the most prestige in D2 football along with may players in many sport playing at the professional level
this school is in the heart of my home town. They offered a degree in the field of my interest TV radio. My mentor also attended this school and he always talked about how exciting the campus was and how devoted the teachers are to there students. That made me very interested after a short overview of the campus and a short tour i knew i wouldnt have to go out of my way and far from home to get a great education in my field it was right in my backyard.
I believe that the students at this campus are stereotyped as being mediocre. This to me is not the case. The students at this university are extremely dedicated and hardworking, just as any other student at big name campuses. I believe that people feel since we are a small school we do not have great students when in fact the majority of students here come from low to mid income families and cannot afford to attend the big school even though they have as much if not more capability than any student there.
