I enjoy this college. I got my Associates and Bachelors Degree in Businuess Management and Administations from here. I am currently pursuing my Masters degree in Cybersecurities and Technologies. I did almost all of my classes on-line and had no issues. I love that there are no books required for the classes. Everything is online.
Really good, patient professors.
I love that I can work at my own pace and the expectations are all noted in the syllabus or attached to each assignment. Our grades are based off of how well you pay attention. The instructors are always available to answer my question and give encouragement. Everyone is supportive and understanding, helping to make the transition from normal life to furthering my education.

Having Disability Support Services is important to be. I like to have accommodations for my academics. I want to be successful when I transfer to the University of Maryland-University College.

I know that you love your family very much, but you should follow your path of what you want to do. Don't let your fear hold you back. Go to University of Maryland College Park and finish school there. Family will always be there to help you out and support you when you're there. If you still can't take the big leap, do two years of College of Southern Maryland and transfer to University Of Maryland College Park.
Very diverse culturally, economically, and socially.
Having the semesters broken down into 8 week terms and the online learning environment is the best thing about this school! I have a family and work shift-work. Going to college has been challenging, but UMUC really makes it easier for me. The ability to take courses online and have less courses to focus on during an 8 week term is essential to my success!
I wish I would have known how friendly that staff is and how relaxed the teachers are. I disliked the teachers at my previous college due to their poor attitudes and how they treated me like I was in first grade all over again. I like the University of Maryland University College teachers, they listen and our flexible to my schedule. If I would have known how much better it was here I would have transfered sooner.
In all honesty, I wouldn’t say UMUC has any real faults or I have any dislikes. Like most universities, they have their advantages and disadvantages. The one thing I would say that I don’t like is how papers don’t seem to be thoroughly critiqued. I found that some professors merely fill out a rubric stating how a student did great or their work needed improvement. No concrete feedback.
My school is an online learning center.

My school is best known for getting a degree online at your own home.
University of Maryland-University College is a school that focuses on the best education. It offers flexible schedules that will benefit all students. UMUC gives you all the qualities of The University of Maryland, except its education is conducted online. If you are a working adult and need a flexible schedule, UMUC is just right for you. You may be a single mom trying to further your skills and education, UMUC is perfect for you. Maybe you are a recent high school graduate who decided to travel the world, UMUC allows you to still attend college. Give UMUC a chance!
I would say the kind of person who should attend my school, is someone who is ready to get back to school after a break from school.
There are a few things that are unique about UMUC that have made me chose them as opposed to other colleges. UMUC will take students with previous college studies, will take students with out as well, will take students with HS. diplomas, as well as GEDS', online help 24-7, and friendly staff. two of the best things about UMUC is they are a 4y college, and they have prior learning programs that will give you earned credit for past experience w/ in school as well as past/current job, as long as it is w/ in your deg!
When I talk about the Univiersity of Phoenix, I tend to brag about the convienence of my school. I am excited to have the chance to attend college while working full time and having a family. The University of Phoenix allows for my dreams to come true, as along as I work hard at achieving them.
The classes are intense and the assignments are demanding.

It is a great representation of a modern approach to higher education, combining the benefits of distance/online based learning with on-location/personalized classroom instructions. Very supportive staff, great faculty, and most importantly, the school services that extend beyond classroom instruction are almost available 24/7.
