It is a good place for those who don't want to attend a university. The staff are all friendly and instructors are always willing to help. The students on campus are all friendly and willing to help you out when you need. I have made amazing friends in my program who I love to study with.
It is a nice school
Just a place to get my General 2-year out of the way. The thing that I really like about CLC is the TRIO Lab and advisors. They have helped me so much with my transfer transition. They have given me a place that I feel comfortable doing my homework without the distractions. They give us snacks too!
I am going for the Child Development A.A.S. Degree and couldn't be happier with it. The teachers and staff are amazing and helpful. Textbooks are required for the core CDEV courses but so far I haven't had to buy any extras. I was late getting signed up for the semester but everyone kept things moving along and were pleasant to work with. Highly Recommend!
Central Lakes College is a very involved school with its students and the community. If there is something that the student body thinks should improve the school board actually listens and works with the students to make that particular thing better. The professors here at Central Lakes College are amazing! I walked into my first semester thinking "Oh boy, these teachers are going to be just like the teachers in high school" But they weren't! I can send them an email in the middle of the night about an assignment and they either respond right away or I get a response by morning. The student spreads word about each teacher and will tell you what methods the teacher used to teach the class. Each teacher has their own set of methods and it is really not hard to find a teacher that best fits you for that subject! If you are a non-traditional student I highly recommend getting in contact with TRIO, they have been a great help to helping me pursue my education. Also, they provide FREE PRINTING! and a lot of times free food like pizza. On-campus we also have the CLC Food Pantry, which has been a major help in keeping my grocery bill low; the food is FREE, donated by locals! I seriously believe that I made the right decision choosing Central Lakes College and I hope you choose the right college too!
