I love Florida College more than I ever thought I would. When I was a junior in high school I was completely against going to FC until I decided to go to Falcon Days. It was Falcon Days that completely changed my mind, after spending just 2 days on campus I knew that FC was the place that I belonged. Now that I have completed by Freshman year, I will be returning in the Fall, and if all goes as planned I will graduate from Florida College which I had never planned on. If you are considering FC as your possible school I would say go for it! It turned out to be better than I ever imagined it would be.
My first year at FC was the best year of my life. I was surrounded by like-minded people, and making friends was so easy and fun! Our athletic teams have excellent players, so sporting events are fun to attend. The overall atmosphere on campus is safe and welcoming. I can’t wait to go back!
Personally, I am looking forward to attending Florida College. It's a place of great spirituality but also is balanced with intense academics. I love that they have groups to join and sports to play. There's everything you need and more at Florida College. It's the place to be!
Florida College is a Christian college that teaches students not only academically but also spiritually. There isn't anyone on campus who doesn't care for each and every student. The campus is beautiful and convenient to everything around it. I would definitely recommend this college to everyone
The fall 2020 acceptance rate for Florida College is 78%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020 , _____ students were offered admission. The number of males who applied was _____ vs the number of females which was _____.
If I could talk to myself as a high school senior with the knowledge I have now about college I would tell myself to not stress out about choosing a degree within the first year or two. You will figure that out with college experience. Also to not stress about money but to invest in your education no matter the amount, it is always worth it. Keep in touch with those who have helped you get where you are and always remember to say thank you because you cannot do it on your own.
The best thing about Florida College is its small size and clean enviroment. All of the dorms at FC are gender seperated. Therefore I never feel unsafe. I never have to worry about my roommate bringing in someone that might be dangerous. With FC's dress code and no alchohol policy I also never have to worry about immodesty or drinking on campus. The main focus at Florida College is your education and your growth in the Lord. Not about drinking parties or fraternities but about learning and education. That is what I like the most about Florida College.
They are all very helpful and encouraging.
Florida College is a college where you can learn anything and keep it for and where you can make friends that you will keep for life.
A person with an open mind to spiritual discusion and who believes in a rigorous academic setting should attend here.
I would brag most about the people and the environment. Florida College provides an excellent environment in which to grow academically and spiritually. It has helped me tremendously. The people here, both the students and faculty, are amazing, and are the kind of people who become friends for life. They really care for each other and do their best to help each other any way they can. I consider Florida College an exceptional school, a great school at which to begin your college career and start your life away from your parents' home
It's Christian based values and small school atomsphere.
The Cafeteria. The food there (generally speaking, there are a few good things) is not the best. And yo
I wish I had known how to be more social to make more friends.
Florida College requires each of its students to take bible classes alongside of the courses relevant to their major. The rules and standards that are applied to the students are made in order to encourage a Christian lifestyle, which is why I, as a Christian, chose to enroll at Florida College.
The most frustrating thing about Florida College is having my expectations shattered. I don't necessarily mean that I have been let down. I haven't. I went into my first semester thinking I knew what I was in for, but I was sorely mistaken. I have learned very quickly that my education is extremely important and that my professors care about me and will not let me fail. It is frustrating that I can not simply do as I please, because the faculty cares about my education AND my well-being.
A type of person that maybe doesnt care about school and rather just sit at home and do nothing with their life. Also this college is different from all the other colleges which is in a good way because we live here at Florida College in a christian enviroment. The type of person that belives in sex, drugs and acholal isnt right for this school and would be kicked out; but if wanting to live the right christian way this school is right for you.
YES- students on the FC campus are unusually friendly. I've taken classes at a community college and other students passed me without so much as a smile. But at FC, even if you do not know the student personally, almost everyone will say hello and smile as you pass. NO- students at FC have their priorities in the right place and most are just trying to do God's will in all aspects of their lives. NO- although many students do meet their future spouses at FC, there is little pressure to get engaged, or even to be dating someone. Even if there is an unspoken pressure or expectation, it is very easy to ignore.
Some people think that students at FC are very closed-minded.
The best thing about FC is the amazingly spiritual friends you will make and keep for life. If i could change one thing, it would be that I would make all the Bible classes pass/fail, but even so, the Bible classes are not too difficult and are incredibly informative. The size of the campus and school is just right, especially for coming right out of high school. its much much less intimidating than a huge university. most of my time spent on campus is in my suite with my wonderful suitemates in our beautiful new drom, Terrace Hall. Tampa is a fun city too! it is not too big, but there is still so much to do in the area! and the weather is perfect. The best, and maybe most unusual time on the FC campus is during lectures week. many classes get canceled, but you will run out of time to attend all the wonderful lectures the school will offer that week and you will be delighted and the energy and joy that permeates the campus.
I love how all of my professors know my name. They have a genuine desire to see you succeed. FC is just like any other college in Academics. I think its exactly what you make of it. If you take easy classes, it will be easy, if you take hard classes, it will be hard.
There are soooooooo many things to do! Theres societies, forensics, theatre, chorus, jazz and wind ensemble, friends, camp friends, circle K, class offices, sbga and so on.
