Iowa Western Community College is a great college to get some credits to be able to transfer to a four year college. It is a perfect small college to allow more time with one on one lessons and accessibility to instructors. It is a nice community that has a variety of groups to join and feel welcome in.
IWCC has some great teachers but some are unusually strict about deadlines. I like that most of the campus is connected to each other which makes winter just a little better. Some universities in the area will claim that they won't accept IWCC credits which may be true so be careful.
So far the experience at Iowa Western Community College has been enjoyable. Diverse and open is what I us to describe the student body. Other than the personal issues I've yet to resolve with my roommate and housing, my overall rating of the school would be a 4.5/5
The could be healthier, cheaper, and allowed take out. The class are very interesting and you learn a lot. The classes have a lot of home and it very hard for traditional students to keep up.
The fall 2020 acceptance rate for Iowa Western Community College is 100%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020 , _____ students were offered admission. The number of males who applied was _____ vs the number of females which was _____.
I would tell myself to try new things in college. Nothing illegal of course, but join a club. Maybe even get in some intramurals sports. Don't just sit around in your room and watch life go by on Netflix. Go get a membership at a gym and actually workout! Get a job as soon as possible. The most important thing I would stress is this, fill out scholarships. Your resume is definitely good enough to get some schollarships. Don't be lazy, because you are going to be a lot of debt soon. The more scholarships you get, the less debt, and the less you will rely on Mom and Dad. Be as independant as possible.

no campus life theres nothing to do here
They were close to home but far enough away to be on my own. And a baseball scholarship I received.
The best thing about Iowa Western is the diversity of people. There are many people from all over the world here and you can learn about them and their culture.
I suppose the most shocking thing for me was the ethnic diversity in our school. Living in Council Bluffs all my life and attending local public school I never knew there was that much diversity in our city. I can count on one hand the number of African American students I went to school with, but now it's just crazy. I love it.
If you like a big school with a lot of activities and different groups to get involved in you wouldn't like this school. The classes at Iowa Westen are also really small so you can really get to know your teacher if you choose to so if you don't like that then this wouldn't be a good school for you.
The most frustrating thing about school is trying to stay organized. You need to make sure that you know what your priorities are and all important dates for you classes. You will want to invest in a planner to help you stay organized. I found that if I keep things organized I feel like I have more control. This has also help relieve some of the stress of college classes.
I would say Iowa Western is best know for their sports, like Volleyball and boys Basketball. People usually go to Iowa Westen because it's cheap and you can still get a good education, and get your general classes done without going to a big college and paying a lot more.
I beleive that the type of person who should attend school is one who is motivated, disciplined, determined, honest, integral, and goal oriented. You most importantly have to be open minded to different ways of thinking. If you dont, you may be missing the chance to not only learn something new but may also be losing a tool that you could use out in your career field. Motivation is a must because even when you dont feel like going to school you have to do it. School is not optional for me, its my job.
