Honestly, overall Kaplan University is a good school to attend the academic advisors are good and understanding and try to provide you with the help you need. The instructors are the same they are resourceful and provide great information for you (the student) to conduct their work to the best of their abilities they provide articles and/or textbooks to help guide you in the right direction. The interaction that you receive through the seminars are great as well and the interaction that you receive through the discussion boards are also great along with your colleagues (other students). Now in regards of the Financial Aid department the school could benefit from training their Financial Aid advisors which some are students working for Kaplan to not just provide students who are calling with generic information in regards of stipends or their funds since the student who is calling has to pay it back anyway. Also, this department has a lot of "system upgrades" but its still remains the same in addition they may want to work on fixing the financial aid section on the KU portal for students who can't access and not give them the run around such as call technical support and the technical support tells you that they can't fix it only Financial Aid can just have some one fix it and avoid the run around because this often causes frustration and stress to the student who is calling and the advisor on the phone. Other than that I think the University is great to attend and get a degree in which ever program you are interested in just watch out for the Financial Aid department.
Kaplan, now known as Purdue University Global, has a wonderful staff. From the moment you talk with your first advisor, you feel welcome and confident that you will succeed. The professors are very involved and are happy to help you whenever needed. The financial aid department is very knowledgeable and are willing to help you at all times. The online campus is easy to navigate and live seminars are held each week to explain the unit assignments and what is expected. There are extra webinars given by the university to help you with APA guidelines, study groups, and time management, to name a few. I have been extremely pleased with my experience.
I am currently enrolled with Kaplan University on their on-line classes. Thus far I am pleased with the interactions with the professors, students and staff. Although I have not attended the actual Davenport campus I have made a visit to the Philadelphia location. It was amazing to see the staff and students treated me as if I've been a student there forever. Kaplan is a terrific school to attend.
Kaplan University has been great thus far, I am now a second year student. Kaplan University offers 24-hr tech support, tutoring and most professors make themselves available outside of office hours. I have experienced two professors that should consider going into another career but the rest have been great. I was concerned when I had made my decision to return to school that I wasn't going to do well at all. It seems I was concerned for nothing. I am a 40 year old online student who has not attended school in over 20 years and I have a 4.2 GPA thanks to all the support provided by Kaplan University.
The fall 2020 acceptance rate for Kaplan University-Davenport Campus is 100%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020 , _____ students were offered admission. The number of males who applied was _____ vs the number of females which was _____.
Aussing I could go back in time as myself as a high school senio knowing what I now know about college life and making the transition, I would have trained myself to be a have better study habits. I have mastered the study skills now that I am almost done with my Bachelors Degree but I believe had I mastered this skill back in high school, the transition would have be a lot easier and I would have not felt like I was bombarded with work 100% of the time. Trail and error was the key my first two years at college and all though I manage to succeed and learn how to balance play and study, I feel that it would have been better spent finishing up my degree this time last yearl. All though I feel that I am not behind, I think that being able to set aside study time and know when to turn off the computer and cell phone would have been a great lesson learned in high school. I just assumed that since I was a A student in high school it would carry over to college, doubting the work would be as hard.
The resources is the best thing about my school. I take online classes, and everything you need to know is in your resource center. There is resources for school topics, blogging, personal issues, if you need to talk to someone with school matters, personal matters, or just to talk, there is always someone there to listen and communicate back to you.
Kaplan students are vey helpful, considerate, tolerant and friendly; except for the one who use school email to sell things.
I tell them about the flexability that this school offers. Being able work a full time job and attend school full time is very difficult. Going to a school that offers class that fit my schedule is really somthing to brag about.
My school is very flexible.
The worst thing about my school is that the teachers only interact with you online, through emails or AIM. This is the worst thing because if you have a very important question it may not get answered until the next day, or even two days after. I emailed my teacher with a homework question, and the homework was due the following day, I turned in the homework then I ended up getting the emailed responce back from my teacher. I've learned that when doing online schooling you have to be very independent from your proffesors and cope without emailing.
If you are the type of person who needs to physically have a teacher in front of you, or needs that motivtion of going to class each day, then online courses are not best for you. You need to be a self motivator.
I wish I had chosen this school a long time ago.
It takes a lot of dedication and planning to be an online schedule. If you get behind, it can be very difficult to catch back up.
They dont let you fin for yourself. They are truly there for you every step of the way, from your very first day until you graduate.
Students who have dependants such as children, siblings, or even parents they take care of. Full time working students.
I believe Kaplan is best known in the nursing world. While that seems to be the forte of the institution I would argue that they should be best known for the simple fact that they offer a bachelor of science in healthcare fields that are not nursing; such as health science and health & wellness.
because i work full time and online courses are best
