Moore College provides a great learning experience with professors who truly encourage you to think outside the box, push your creativity, and give their expert advice on your major or any knowledge they may have that extends beyond it. All of the professors are actively working in their fields while sharing their techniques with students. This allows not only the professors to keep up to date on the evolving technology of today, but to also impart their experience and knowledge to their students. The academics are rather intensive, but this teaches students time management as well as how to handle future clients by viewing their professors in such as manner. The technology, equipment, and studio spaces are extremely helpful in this regard as well as the fact that Moore College is a small school. As a result of a small school, students can bond easily and are often seen critiquing and giving helpful advice or techniques to their fellow classmates regardless of their major. Furthermore, there are also insightful opportunities for students to attend guest panels of alumni or experts working in their creative fields. Students can actively engage with these guests which allows for instantaneous and personalized questions or advice and networking. Alum and winner of Project Runway, Dom Streater, is an example of a successful graduate. She made an appearance as a guest speaker for my first year convocation and simply seeing and hearing a successful woman from my college inspired me to strive to be just as great. In short, Moore College is an excellent academic experience for artists and many have succeeded in working in their desired fields.
You create very tight friendships with other women artists, and the positions of power in the school are always held by women.
Moore is pretty good. I love most of my teachers. They're a very big help to what I want to do with my life. I personally love the food. The food is okay and they made most of my favorites. The class sizes are wonderful and I have one on one time with all of my professors. The dorms are also fine but a bit small.

I would go back and tell myself that I should to develop better study patterns so that I could study better. Also, I would tell myself that I should get more involved in volunteering and extra curricular activities. And last but not least, I would tell myself to take my time and think more about the major I wanted to get into because in high school I thought I wanted to get into Fashion Design and about 3 yrs later, I realized how much I wanted to get into Jewelry Design.
The most amazing group of girls you could ever be involved with. They're caring, thoughtful, kind, and just all around amazing. You couldn't find a better group of people anywhere!
The curriculum is very rigorous, and therefore very challenging, which is good if you want or need a challenge.
Lots of ladies making art; confues, hungry, hostial, hopeful.
Someone who isn't artistic and focused.
My school is most known for its fashion and illustration majors. We have a fashion show every year, to begin with. When I graduate, I'll remember it most for its nurturing environment due its small and specialized classes. It's a college that takes you out of high school into new surroundings and makes you realize what really is and isn't important in life.
I don't think we have one, or not that I'm aware of.
If I could engrain something into my past self, it would be pursue what you love and design your life in able to do so. Always attend to presentation, detail, and communication. Be responsible for things you have the power to change. Whether your agenda, clothing, or happiness, everything can be organized with optimal intent. Consider the time and energy of your work and be proud to go the extra mile to make it stand-alone. It's also important to voice your thoughts, they are valuable. Trust your ideas but never underestimate a person’s capacity to help.
Overall, I love my college, Moore College of Art and Design, but the worst thing about my college is their view on certain majors. For example, I am majoring in photography and digital arts. On Moore's website every major, but photography, such as illustration or fashion design, has a list of jobs that Moore Graduates have worked and/or still work at. Photography, my dream, is the only major that does not have one of those 'lists'. It makes me feel as if their photography program is not as 'up to par' with the other majors offered.
My school is very liberal in the sense that they allow us to explore art in a well guided way. We are allowed to express ourselves in our work, as a matter of fact, it is highly encouraged. I believe that this allowed me to find my love of mixed media in my art.
