Mount Mercy university is not only a great school for nursing and business, it is also a great school for science majors. Most science majors are pre-professional science majors who major in biology or biochemistry. All of the science department advisors and professors always put the students first. All science professors encourage students to come in during their office hours, and most have an open door policy where students and pop in any time without making an appointment as long as their door is open. MMU is also a small school so the class sizes are usually very small which allows students to build a better relationship with their professors and their peers. MMU is a great place for students who are interested in grad school or professional programs, or if they have no idea what they want to do because the professors are always there for the students and do everything they can to get students to reach their goals.

I like Mount Mercy. The professors go out of their to help students. The job assistance/placement services could be more proactive in helping students obtain internships and post graduation placement. The adminstration is very supportive in making sure the students have a great experience on-campus.

I enjoy attending Mount Mercy University because of the small class sizes. The size of classes makes it easy to communicate with teachers and to express any confusion about assignments. I also enjoy the work study program. While it may not pay the best, it is accessible. For a a student with a busy schedule, it's nice working in the cafeteria because it's on campus. The work is pretty easy and they schedule you around classes with ease. With all the workers they have on hand, you get to meet a lot of other students and can connect while working. Another great thing about MMU is the tunnels. This is my first year here at school and with Iowa winter it was really great not to have to bundle up to get to class. You could wear shorts all winter if you wanted to! One of the bad things however is the cafe. While they offer a lot of options, they only have hot food at certain times. If you have a class during lunch, you'll never get a hot lunch. They also claim to have a wide variety of options, which they do, but not every meal. It's more like each meal has a menu plan and only the meals have a variety. That is to say your lunch may be all American food and dinner might be all "Mexican". That said, Mount Mercy is very inclusive of other cultures since there are so many international students. Although it is a Catholic school, they don't push their religion on you. They understand not everyone attending is Catholic and while they have masses, attending is not mandatory.

I think MMU is a very good and local school for any one who love on campus life. There's something for everyone there and it's very easy to work your way around campus. The surroundings are great and there's always something to do on and off campus. The staff are always ready and willing to help with anything you might need help with.
