Mount mercy is the best! The classes are small, the biggest class I have is maybe 50 students, but the student to professor ratio is 13:1. The professors a almost always accessible, whether its office hours or email. There is free tutoring offered 7 days a week. The food is better than most places. And there is always something to do on campus! Sports, improv, trivia nights, bingo, and more!
i don't think Mount Mercy is a bad school. There are some things that i would change especially when it comes to the needs or getting the attention of commuters. When it comes to the food, it's not always bad but it could be a lot better. Burgers and fries everyday is a no go.
Mount Mercy University is a wonderful, colorful and intellectual college to be at. Students and Staff are always friendly and willing to help out anyone who asks. I was a little afraid to go to a private college so well known but they have welcomed me with open arms. Showing me that I can achieve anything through hard work and a little fun.
I love the close-knit community and focus on the importance of academics and service. I enjoyed the portal class as a way for incoming students to get to know campus and the services offered here. It is a very nice campus and you can always find a helping hand when you need it
The fall 2020 acceptance rate for Mount Mercy University is 61%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020 , _____ students were offered admission. The number of males who applied was _____ vs the number of females which was _____.
My number one advice is that the environment of the school is equally as important as the program you will be attending. If you aren't comfrotable in the environment you will not excel. I encourage going on multiple campus visits, including overnight visits. Attend campus activities, sports events, sit in on some classes and eat in the cafeteria. Get the full feel for the college before making any decsions. Also, once you start attending, GET INVOLVED. This will be your home away from home, so jump in and make it the best experience of your life!
MMC was a good school; I got a good education but it was a LOT of work.
We are best known for our Nursing program, it is one of the best in the mid-west. However, all of their social science programs are very good. We also have professors who are knows in their field within the larger community.
that they were going to raise tuition a $1000+ every single year i was here
A person who wants one on one attention from progressors, someone who loves to have class discussions versus lectures. Also someone who wants to be a part of a tight nit community and have the chance to be involved in many activites. The school is located in a medium sized city, so someone who likes the "city feel", but doesnt want to chaos of a large city.
we have tunnels. small classes. all buildings are close.
Some people may think that it is to small, but that is something you will have to decide, come check it out, for me it's perfect, it may be perfect for you too.
The most frustrating thing with Mount Mercy is the professors and their office time. They will let you know when they are in their office but most of the time when you go they are in a meeting or just not there. It is hard to have time to talk unless you set up an appointment or they respond to emails quick.
Many think they are better than everyone else.
There are no T.A.s teaching its always the professor and they are always willing to help a student out.
The tunnels! Mount Mercy has tunnels that connect to every building on campus so when its raining or snowing out you never have to worry about it!
