I love Sitting Bull College, they are full of opportunity and are willing to help accommodate your needs. I started out with nothing, no highschool diploma, no nothing. I have come a long way since then, I have my GED and earned a $1500 scholarship my first semster of school for that, I now am a second year college student who will be gradutating with my associates degree. If it wasn't for Sitting Bull College, I wouldn't be where I am today and the accomplishments I have made since I have started. They have a great staff that does every thing they can to help make sure you succeed.
It's a pretty decent learning facility. I took a few classes there and lived in the dormitory. The building is modernly built and clean. I spent a lot of my time in the main study area. There is wifi and it was usually quiet. If you needed to speak to any of the teachers they had an office hours schedule at the time(2014). Like any schooling - communication is key. Keep in touch with the teachers, especially if you plan on missing any lectures and you'll pass. While I attended SBC I liked to exercise. There is a small gym right across from the dorms and trail alongside the main road that I would use. Lasty the dorms were VERY nice. Wood floors, stovetop, sink and fridge equipped. The living room had a table and even a decent couch! Four seperate rooms per dorm, a spacious shower, and a place to wash your clothes(quarter machine.) Each seperate room has a bed, desk, and large storage cabinet. I had a good experience at this college.
At first I was hesitant to apply to Sitting Bull because I wasn't sure it'd be all that great given the small size and location. But I didn't really find myself another option, so I put away my doubts and enrolled. I couldn't be happier with my decision to. I did not expect to have the overwhelmingly supportive and loving environment to be able to learn and grow in. The teachers show a huge amount of support and care about our success. They don't put on a fake smile and come into class. They really believe that anyone in our area, despites the stereotypes that may arise, are more than capable of going to college and making a life for themselves. Its a diamond in the rough, especially in our area. I want people to know that. More people need to take advantage and make a change.
Sitting Bull College is an excellent choice to further education. There are many programs of study available including 2 Masters programs and 6 Bachelors programs. The staff and faculty are super helpful and supportive in your studies as well as extracurricular activities.
