Chemeketa Community College is a great place to start earning college credit during high school or before going on to a four year university. There is a wide variety of courses of all levels offered there. The teachers always have office hours and it is very easy to get in contact with them outside class hours. Moreover, the education offered there is great, there are exceptional teachers and peers you will find. Alumni, tend to keep to themselves and everyone is in their own world or getting things done. The experience you will get at Chemeketa Community College will give you the tools to move up in your professional or student life.
Overall a good school to start out at. I got chemeketa scholars which paid for most of my tuition, the professors are nice for the most part. I just go to school and do what I have to do then leave. It would be better if the campus was updated, some buildings need a little bit of work.
It's a pretty cheap community college with caring professors and satisfying academics. I would recommend it to anyone who wants a less expensive education. The food is pretty good but kind of expensive however the library is very nice and easily accessible.
It is a great community college, and has great resources. You feel at home, and it is just a very friendly and welcoming community; like family. A great school to get started. The classes and professors are great. I like that there are many different professors to the same subject. It is fun, and something is always going on; a meeting, clubs, or activities anyone can join in on.
The fall 2020 acceptance rate for Chemeketa Community College is 100%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020 , _____ students were offered admission. The number of males who applied was _____ vs the number of females which was _____.
Please stay focused and understand that you may not know what you want to do right now, but if you just get your schooling out of the way first, life will be much easier later. It is very hard to try to be a wife and mother and still get the most out of a college life. Stay focused, be determined, and this part of your life will be over before you know it.
The worst thing about Chemeketa is, the classes are not guaranteed. If enough people don't sign up for a class it will get dropped. This has only effected once during my two year stay at Chemeketa but it did mess up my schedule. They have some main classes that always fill up, but the electives sometimes don't. I enrolled in one class and only found out it was dropped a week into the class. I couldn't transfer into the other equivalent class because that class ended up being full.
Anybody, But this school is great for a career in the health feild, mainly EMT/Fire Fighting. It's a great place for student to get there prerecks done and transfer
A small, yet comfortable, location with high quality education.
Chemeketa is known best for it's diversity.
Chemeketa is the only availble college for a very large area. This produces a student body, that consists of all races, and all different classes. Chemeketa is a school has resources avaliable for people of all levels of ability and backgrounds. Chemeketa provides many oppourtunities to students that may not have otherwise had the chance.
Fun, outgoing, helpful
The most frustrating thing about my school is not having enough night and online classes. I have to work and attend school at night or on line right now and it is hard to get in the classes becuase they fill very quickly.
I feel privilaged to attend Chemeketa Community College as I am able to receive awarding and challenging teaching for much less than a 4-year college. The most awarding aspect of attending Chemeketa is the wide variety of people I come in contact with. In my history class I sit next to an 84-year-old woman who brings so much more depth to the class for me. Also, in another class the variety of life backgrounds is so diverse it really makes discussions bloom with different outlooks. The atmosphere as well as the teaching has molded me.
Students who want to have the social "college experience" that comes with a state school won't find it as much at a community college. There are student dorms, but many students live off campus. There is also a higher percentage of people (including myself) who are not exactly fresh from high school and have other responsibilities like a job or family. If that sounds lame, then this school might not be for you.
I wish I had known about the two year scholarship Chemeketa had to offer before I started my senior year in high school. Additional schooling, even at a community college, is hard to pay for. Taking away some of those spending costs would have been a blessing.
