College of the Redwoods is a place to learn in the quiet. Its surroundings are spacious and involve a whole lot of nature. You're surrounded by Redwoods Trees and the fresh scent of nature. The staff and directors are all nice and very welcoming-- not to mention, they remember faces! All of the students there are kind and friendly, make sure to say hi! Most of us are quiet though.
It's a very good school and I have thoroughly enjoyed my experience thus far. I am currently in my third semester and have had many supporting and helpful teachers work to make my education accessible and possible. I am highly appreciative of the opportunity I have had by attending College of the redwoods and am excited for all future semesters to come and classes to attend.
The campus is amongst the forest so the air is clean and transportation by bus is accessible in Humboldt if you do not have a car. If you schedule your classes right you'll have plenty of time to hit up a bathroom before going to class. Everyone that I have met is friendly, and if I have a question to ask, all of the workers are prepared to answer. It's obvious that college of the redwoods is a good place to start your educational career, whether you want a quick degree or transferable credits to Humboldt University.

Our counseling and advising department is top notch and quite accessible for help with individuals educational plan. Our cafeteria is not the greatest. They often run out of many items, however the meals made in house are delicious. I would recommend College of the Redwoods to anyone who save money while getting a quality education. The college is tuition free and charges by the unit. It's set in a beautiful area with many wonders to explore. Come see.

I would have told myself to be more prepared with funding. Books are so expensive. supplys are almost just expensive and you still need to pay for rent. And all of that together will cost alot of money.
Anyone and everyone of all walks of life, who want to enrich their lives, should attend college. Whether the attendance to college is to just enrich one's knowledge, or to train one for a degree in a specific field, there are many benefits to going to college. Speaking as a single mom, it was especially vital for me in order to obtain a degree for a vocation that will allow me a liveable wage.
A learning institution which allows a person time to both figure out their major while working towards a general education.
A collective group of individuals who seek many different career ideas but have come to one place to achieve them.
College of the Redwoods allows the students to interact closely with the professors. The number of labs, student help centers, and tutoring available really influenced my consideration of the school. The College does its best to bring the professors to the students, so the students have the best possible chance to succeed. It is always very easy to either find your professor or email the professor and they will answer whatever questions you have. College of the Redwoods does whatever they can to help you move forward in your college career.
What a beautiful campus , were surrounded by the tallest trees in the world and that's the Giant Redwoods ( Seoquoia Sempervirens ) and you could over look the pacific ocean on a certain hillside on campus that is awsome, there is trails on campus that lead you through the mountains of Redwoods, there are tree swings and deers hang out on campus thats is so amazing I love my College, there is plenty of parking but most of all they have an Excellent Academic Staff Members what can I say God lead to the right path EUREKA, CA" I found it"
First, our school is known for our beautiful campus. It sits on a hill surrounded by Redwoods, with an amazing view of our bay. Secondly, our school is known for it's family-like vibe. The college is on the smaller side, and I recognize about 50% of the students there from high school. And lastly, I think that our school is known for some of our great programs, such as our nursing and criminal justice departments.
The faculty are the best thing at the college I attend. Every member on the faculty whom I have had the pleasure of interacting with, have been most respectful, encouraging, and accomodating. I would not expect all faculty at all other colleges to behave in such a personal way with their students, but the faculty at this college seem to genuinely care for their students, and want to see them succeed.
I wish I would have known just how expensive it is. I thought that since it was a community college, it would be rather cheap. But this isn't true at all. I have had to spend a lot of money out of my pocket, and I wish I would have saved more money before attending college.
Any person can attend this school, the only person who should not register for classes are those who are not willing to take the classes seriously. Just becuase we are a smaller college does not mean that we are not there for the same education as those at a bigger school.
Actually there's only one thing frustrating about my school and that's Math to be honest with you I have been strullging with mathamatics when I Started College of the Redwwods on a basic 360 Pre Elementary Algebra now I am making Progress and understand and grasping the concept, I moved up to a level Math 380 this fall semester and now my goals it to determine to get to statistics and Graduate with a Degree in Forestry Natural Resources and to proceed to Humboldt University.
