I just transferred to CSUN and over all I love it. It was such an easy transition from community college. The counselor was very helpful in planning my classes for me to graduate in two years. They help you step by step with everything and encourage you to become involved on campus.

California State University-Northridge is a favorable school for selective majors. As an example, the Psychology program is phenomenal for students who have an interest in this field of education. I am not qualified to speak upon other programs for the only one that I have a true passion for is the cognitive aspects of higher education, but for the most part, the campus is safe, resourceful, academically advanced, and alertness towards their students.

California State University of Northridge is an amazing place to earn your college education. All the professors I've had were surprisingly very sweet. They do put in the time to help out all their students. Even if you don't catch them during their office hours, you're welcome to email them. On-campus, they have plenty of resources to take advantage of. They offer free tutoring for everything. I went ahead and visited the Learning Resources Center to have a tutor help me out with an essay. It's a one on one with your tutor. Did you forget to print out an assignment? Well, head to the computer lab or to the library where computers are accessible. They're on opposite ends that way you don't have to go across campus. Feeling hungry? Food courts are almost everywhere on campus and off. If you wear your CSUN shirt, you get a discount, and that includes the school store. CSUN has plenty of clubs to offer and I've visited a few to interact with others. Making friends on campus, in my opinion, was easy especially if they're in your class. CSUN also holds multiple campus activities, for example, like get-togethers and concerts. One event I specifically remember is Matador Night, which was the first event I attended. They had a carnival, music, and free food. As a student, I can say with all honesty that I was intimidated about going to college because everyone knows what they're doing and I felt lost, but even if they do, they're all just like me. Just trying to make it home to their pets. No one judges you based on what you look like, how you dress, identify, or any such things. Everyone is focusing on their responsibilities and in fact, they're so kind that they might just become your best friend if you compliment them. CSUN offers to counsel if you're ever stuck or just need someone to talk to. I'm extremely fortunate to be a part of this community.

While CSUN's students are academically motivated, they also find time for extracurricular activities. Professors are encouraging, and there are plenty of academic resources so that students can be successful in the classroom. Campus life is lively with some manner of event to look forward to. The campus is also one of the best looking with the university being used as a filming location. Amenities such as the gym and the oasis provide students a place to go workout or relax during their downtime. The oasis nap pods are especially convenient. Sustainability is a significant factor, so much so that the gym equipment is used to power the building. There is much to experience at CSUN, and one need not walk that far to encounter it.

What is your overall opinion of this school?

As a whole, California State University-Northridge has been a wonderful school with a lot of opportunities to get involved. This includes clubs, honors organizations, on-campus jobs, access to the enormous gym, and a large pool of students and faculty to form friendships with. The campus is pleasant to walk around, especially with the accents of student-designed architecture spread throughout the grounds. Whatever situation a student is in, they can find a comfortable place to stay on campus. If one wants to study, they have access to the Oviatt Library. If they want to relax, the Oasis Wellness Center offers “nap pods” and massage chairs, or they can take a stroll to the duck pond on the south side of campus. If a student wishes to hang out with some friends, there are many seating areas and dining options. Academically, I think this school accommodates a wide range of learners. If students wish to take on an easier load, they can take less classes and spread out their GE’s. But if students who have maintained good grades wish to challenge themselves further, they can apply to honors programs to reach higher goals. Forming positive relationships with professors also allows students to open new doors, whether this involves finding jobs and internships in the real world, or asking for recommendation letters. Although it is mainly a commuter school, and therefore most students won’t have a “classic college experience” the diversity of CSUN’s student body and faculty allows for exciting, insightful, and enriching interactions.

I honestly feel that this university is very beautiful and peaceful place to walk around during the day. I really appreciate the amount of support there is from the staff because it isn't to support students while also managing to work on campus. There are also many support groups for those who are still undecided or going through tough challenges in life. Some professors are very lenient when people are going through issues and I love that about these professors. Northridge has such a good support system for the students and sometimes that's just what they need to succeed in college.

What is your overall opinion of this school?

Personally, I appreciate just how much CSUN has provided by way of diversity, within both the student body and the various ideas and ideologies found here. The university boasts a wide range of "cultural studies" courses, offering the average student an entirely different perspective on the world around them. For this reason, I would definitely recommend the university for those who seek to learn... not only academics, but life lessons as well.

It is a great campus we much diversity in students and there are plenty of clubs for everyone. Anyone is able to find something they enjoy doing in campus sports, clubs, fairs, and more. There is always something going on in campus where everyone is able to get involved and have fun. The campus is huge and your able to meet so many new people and the surroundings of the school is a great environment.
