What is your overall opinion of this school?

Heritage University is a great place. The class sizes are small which is perfect because it gives you more time with the instructor. The instructors are very caring and want you to succeed. Classes are set up in such a convenient way that you have to try really hard in order to fail. Heritage University truly wants the students to succeed.

They staff is very supportive of the students and always willing to help. The facilities are nice in some buildings, not so much in others. They are very supportive and inclusive of diversity. They offer evening classes for those who are working students. It's a great school over all!

What is your overall opinion of this school?

Heritage University is a small campus. The students mostly just come to class and leave right after because there is nothing to do around here, we are literally in the middle of no where. Something I really like about Heritage is that the staff/professors are always willing to help to ensure the success of the students attending.

Heritage is a overall I good college to attend. The classes are small, which allows you to have more one on one with teachers. The staff is very involved in our school academics. We have places like the ASC and Writing center that helps us with our academic needs , such as studying, writing skills and much more. The environment is very friendly, it feels more that just a university it feels like a home.

Heritage is a great University and the professor are there for you and want to see you succeed in your college career and post college. The course size are small but has great benefits you have more professor to student interaction. I would recommend this university for anyone who is looking to improve your life through education.

What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

If I could give advice to myself in high school, I would tell myself to start Running Start sooner (junior year) and use that time to take more versatile prerequisites, such as speech. In addition, I would tell myself to go to Central Washington University instead of Heritage, forego the minor in education, and to take advantage of as many technical writing and grant writing courses as I possibly could. Those are the choices I should have made that I am paying for now. I would also encourage myself to spend more time looking for grants and scholarships during my senior year, so that college wasn't such a drain on my resources. I have thrived in college for the most part, but I made some serious missteps because I didn't have a good advisor at my disposal to help me chart my course. That, I think, would be the last piece of advice I would give myself: find a good advisor or counselor and use them to chart out a postsecondary plan that makes sense for you. I wish I had that time to do over. There is a lot I would do differently.

What's unique about your campus?

I can't think of any positives associated with Heritage University. I would encourage prospective students to save their time and money and go some place else. I wish someone had told me the same thing. The school is very expensive and the quality of education is very poor. A majority of the courses I was instructed to take had little or nothing to do with my chosen field of study. I hope no one else makes the same mistake.

What kind of person should not attend this school?

No one should attend this school. I'm amazed it ever earned its accreditation.

Describe your favorite campus traditions.

Heritage University is most known for a high minority community of students attending. There are more Hispanics and Native Americans that attend this school than other colleges I have seen. It makes it more comfortable for students of ethnicity to adjust to college life and feel no pressure of race. A lot of students come here from rough backgrounds and dealt with racism in their lives. It is an excellent school for those who want to change their lives to the better.

What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

If I could go back in time I would tell myself to not expect anyone to hold your hand through registration. In High School, a principal or secretary would literally help me through everything and contact people to make sure I was on track. In college, no one is pushing you to complete registration. You either complete registration or fail. They expect you to do all the work. I always see freshman clueless on this process. I would also tell myself that school is not free and costs lots of money and it is my responsibility to pay for it. There are a lot of resources to help you apply for scholarships but you must keep your grades good. If your grades are not good, it will be hard for you to come up with funds to pay for school. The best advice I would give myself is to make sure you give a good impression to everyone. Dress nice and be confident. The career you are going for is how you should look and act. This is the best way to stand out to help teachers notice you and it will come in handy for recommendations.

What's the most frustrating thing about your school?

Financial Aid is the most dissapointing, hands down. Funding seems to be in late after school is in it's first couple of weeks. It is bothering because I need books and it depends on how fast funding comes in. Some of their staff seem shortsided on how to write an "official" need analysis for some scholarship requirements. The cashier lady seems like she hates her job at times. Other than that though, it really is a nice school.
