Johnson and Wales is an excellent school. The professors are really there to help us students strive, and they really do care. Pretty much everyone is friendly and you can strike up a conversation with other college students. The campus is warm and inviting, and even though it was very nerve wracking at first. It was easy to get comfortable and fit right in.

Johnson and Wales is a very open school that provides students with plenty of resources especially when their looking for their field of work. Career services that assist with resume development and many teachers with advice for job opportunities. We hold on to the energy and spread it around and make sure all students can be involved in the eventful life at JWU. Overall the school gives great experience to those looking for a good college, especially in culinary and other business detailed jobs.

Life on campus in Providence, RI is living in a small city, in the biggest small state. You can always find a quiet area to study, students to hang out with and friendly business owners to interact with. Jobs are close by your dorms and the place has a small town charm to it. The historical downtown buildings have a pleasant renaissance architectural charm to them and in the winter the snow fights on McNulty Hall Lawn is legendary. Winters in RI are the best New England experience you will have. Dunkin Donuts on every corner keeps you awake and well lit for classes. The multi-cultural aspects of your classmate truly gives you a worldwide experience while being tucked away in cozy downtown campus. This environment is conducive for learning.

The campus has a great view and has a lot of majors to choose from. They have a lot of professors that can help with your academic courses and as well as your classes that you will take when you decide on your major. You will be able to make a lot of friends and to enjoy the city at night.

Johnson and Wales is a spectacular school for a variety of people. If you're looking for the fun, clubbing experience, you can find a group of people to party with. If you're serious about your studies, people will respect that and smile welcomingly at you when you enter the library. It is expensive and the food is downright shameful for a culinary school, but the experiences JWU has to offer is what sets it apart from all the other schools. I would highly recommend furthering your education at Johnson and Wales.

What is your overall opinion of this school?

It has a good Baking & Pastry Arts program; the chefs are willing and accessible to help if a student has questions about internship, the industry, etc. However, tuition, room and board are extremely expensive, making JWU difficult to afford. Also, it is a serious party school, probably partly due to the fact that we have three-day weekends.

What is your overall opinion of this school?

I think that Johnson & Wales in Providence, RI is for the culinary students only. They aren't that interested in majors that aren't culinary. Most of our resources go to them and the biology department relies on old, used work from the years before. No, help is given in certain areas of work. The tutors are students that are only there to get paid and they don't really know how to teach the material to you. The work in fast paced so no slacking(The one thing I like). Getting in touch with your academic advisor and financial advisor is a pain. Because being here since September and I only got to see my academic advisor once this whole year. I haven't met my financial advisor at all. They both seem to like canceling appointments I make again, and again. And have a problem when I email them about it. Now, when taking in the students here, well the school is predominately white. There is always going to be some sort of racism wherever a young African American woman goes. I had to move dorms due to harsh and unethical harassment by said roommates because of the color of my skin. When they knew a Brittany was dorming with them, an African American with a white girl name is not what they expected. This school in for caucasian, and if your not that then a culinary student is what you should be. They don't accept you nor do they give you the resources to better. Which is why transfering in the best thing for me to a school I have experience being around. And that is what a must do.

What is your overall opinion of this school?

It is a really good school to attend because the chefs really push you to be the best you could be. It's a money worth school. It also gives you a lot of opportunities to practice your skills in the clubs that they have. Like the skills classes for pasta making, pizza making, or you could do some pastry things like pulled sugar. So overall this school is where you should attend if you want to be in the culinary or pastry world.

What is your overall opinion of this school?

I absolutely love attending Johnson & Wales. I have completed a lot of research, talk to many people and genuinely love what I am doing. My professors and chefs are great, patient and share in my passion for learning. The best part of attending this university is the labs. I have learned so much with the cooking process.
