I absolutely love attending Johnson & Wales. I have completed a lot of research, talk to many people and genuinely love what I am doing. My professors and chefs are great, patient and share in my passion for learning. The best part of attending this university is the labs. I have learned so much with the cooking process.

Johnson & Wales University is an incredible community to be a part of. The people are not only friendly and welcoming but are also generous and always ready to help for any task. The students are enthusiastic and are always eager to learn more and do more. All in all, it's a great college experience like I had imagined!

Although I have not been at Johnson & Wales for so long, I have definitely grown to like it a lot due to the many opportunities that it gives students. There are definitely a lot of great people I have met through my classes and through other organizations that have made my experience even better.

JWU is the most diverse campus I've ever seen in many respects, which can be good or bad depending on the category. In terms of racial diversity, we're not one of the WASP-y New England schools and minorities have more than adequate representation. Academically, there are students with all different GPAs and interests. Most kids are culinary or hospitality majors, but don't let that dissuade you because each major really does have awesome faculty that will help you learn a LOT. Our professors are very academically achieved and have tons of experience in their field. The financial aid office is relatively generous if you make a good and professional impression. However, for a culinary school, the food's a little...inedible. If you're vegan or vegetarian you'll want to get off the meal plan before you even get there because we are meat-centric as all get out. Good luck finding a grocery store if you don't have a car or Whole Foods money. We're not in the best part of Providence like Brown is but it's easy enough to walk to the RISD museum, Federal Hill, or Thayer if you want to escape what is the most boring part of Providence. All in all, this school has lots to offer if you're willing to put up with a few things.

I love this school. It is so diverse and inclusive. It feels more like home to me. The campus is so beautiful and there is always something to do on and off campus. The academics are not too stressful, very intermediate and it never feels overwhelming.

What is your overall opinion of this school?

JWU is a great school where you can meet many peoples of many cultures, you also have the opportunity to do almost anything and have the freedom to be anyone. The fact that this campus is bisected into a City campus and also a Suburban campus can truly provide for almost any type of student personality.

Overall Johnson & Wales University - Providence, has some great aspects but at the same time some downfalls. There is always something to do in Providence if nothing is going on around campus. There are other surrounding colleges (Brown, RISD, RIC), so many students from different schools hang out on the weekends or throw parties together. The downfalls are that there are two separate campuses (Harborside and Downcity). You have to take a shuttle to get from one campus to the other. It is extremely difficult if you are an athlete living on the Downcity campus. This is due to the fact that there are a lot of students (especially culinary) who take the shuttle during certain times and you can miss a bus/be late for practices or games. Another downfall is being in the downtown area of Providence, it is very unsafe to walk alone at night. You should always walk with a group after about 9-10 pm, mostly because of the homeless population.

I love Johnson and Wales it has been my dream school since I was thirteen years old. I have always waned to visit campus and when i did i fell in love right away. Every time i am on campus with my friends i never want to leave. I remember going to the first student orientation, i had so much fun there with the other kids. Even though i was older than them they didn't treat me any different. The food there is great and i love the customer service there. I never have a bad day at school, I have a bad day when it pouring and i forget my umbrella. But overall i love, this may seem wrong to say but I am a commuter which means i live off campus. I wish i lived on campus but due to not having enough funds i couldn't afford it. But i rather go to the campus everyday than go to my part time job. I just love the atmosphere and the people there, they are so welcoming and supportive. They are like my family, wildcat forever.

What is your overall opinion of this school?

Johnson and Wales has been my dream since I was a junior in high school. The day I received my acceptance letter I cried many tears of joy. Now that I have attended the school, I can proudly say it's still my dream. The campus is beautiful, the professors care about your success, and the students become a family in the lab courses. Whenever anyone tells me that they're interested in JWU, I tell them to try to anything they can to go here.
