LITA/LSSI Minority Scholarship in Library and Information Technology

U.S. and Canadian citizens who will have earned no more than 12 hours towards a Master of Library Science degree by June of the award year are eligible for this award. Students must be members of a principal minority group; attend an ALA-accredited school; and plan to enter the library automation field.

LITA/Christian Larew Memorial Scholarship in Library and Information Technology

Graduate students who have completed no more than 12 hours in an approved Master of Library Science (MLS) program while attending an ALA-accredited school are eligible for this award. Eligible students must plan to follow a career into the library and information technology field.

Iowa Scholarship for the Arts

This scholarship is available for Iowa students who have graduated this year and will be attending an Iowa college. Students must have proven artistic ability in dance, literature, music, theatre, traditional arts, or the visual arts, and major in one of those areas.

Bobette Bibo Gugliotta Memorial Scholarship for Creative Writing

This award is available for U.S. undergraduate students who have an interest in and pursue a career in the field of creative writing. Students must attend or have graduated from a high school located in San Mateo County or northern Santa Clara County (Daly City through Mountain View) and must be a resident of California.

Bill McKnight Legacy Scholarship

This scholarship is available for LGBT students and straight allies who are studying art or humanities at an accredited college or university in the U.S. Preference is given to students residing in Kitsap County or Bainbridge Island in Washington State.

KHEAA Teacher Scholarship

This scholarship is available for Kentucky undergraduate and graduate students who are pursuing an initital teacher certification. Priority is given to Juniors, seniors, and graduate level students.

Porter Fleming Literary Competition

This is a writing contest for residents of Tennessee, Georgia, Florida, Alabama, South Carolina, and North Carolina. To enter, students may submit their work in one of four categories: fiction, poetry, nonfiction or drama. Applicants should review the website for the requirements to enter their specific writing category.

NATAS Northwest Scholarship

This award is available for U.S. or international college freshmen, sophomores and/or juniors who attend college in one of the following states: Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon or Washington. Students must pursue a career in television or film, such as broadcasting, production, editing, etc.

Washington American Indian Endowed Scholarship

This award is available to Washington undergraduate and graduate students who are currently attending or planning to attend a postsecondary institution in Washington. The student must have close cultural and social ties to an American Indian community in Washington.

New Mexico Teachers’ Loan-For-Service

The purpose of the Teacher Loan-For-Service program is to proactively address New Mexico’s teacher shortage by providing students with the financial resources to complete or enhance their post-secondary teacher preparation education.
