Desert Financial Foundation’s Adult Learners Scholarship

In 1939, fifteen educators pooled together all their money – just $78.75 – to start a credit union for teachers. To honor the legacy of our founding, we offer the Desert Financial Foundation Adult Learners Scholarship to members ages 25 or older. In 2024, 30 applicants will be selected to receive $3,000 each in scholarship funds, to be distributed directly to the Arizona-based college, university or professional certification program of their choice.

The Generation Hope Scholar Program surrounds teen parents with mentoring, tuition assistance, a peer community, and other vital, wrap-around services to help them earn their degrees. I am delighted to introduce the Nakayama Public Service Scholarship. The Nakayama family created an endowment specifically to support highly motivated students who want to work on our world’s challenging problems by engaging in public service careers (defined as careers in organizations that end in .edu, .gov, .mil or .org). The South Lyon Area Democrats (SLAD) will be awarding a scholarship to a local graduating high school senior to support their college, vocational school, or other post-high-school education, training, or activism. This scholarship will be awarded to a student who demonstrates progressive values, care for their community, and a desire for action.

Ted & Holly Rollins Scholarship

Both Ted Rollins and Holly Rollins have always valued young people who invest extra time, dedication and sweat equity to excel academically (as well as in life), no matter what their obstacles may be. This biannual scholarship will honor the late Ted Rollins’ vision as well as his wife Holly’s vision to give deserving high school seniors a helping hand toward their college tuition.

Parent Projects Scholarship

Parent Projects purpose is to create a positive and material impact on families by reducing barriers to safe living environments for older adults. We are interested in finding out how students themselves, or someone they know, had the opportunity in improving an older adult’s living environment, as well as how their experience impacted their approach on helping others.
