Columbia International is a wonderful private institution that really lets you have fun and the student life there is amazing despite it being a private school there are many opportunities around the campus area that you really can't enjoy your time at this small private institution.
Columbia International University is an amazing place to live and learn, there is a very substantial focus on learning from a christian worldview and making good connections. Were lucky enough to have professors that understand the value of good connections and experience and work constantly to infuse those things into us. The classes and environment of CIU are amazing and I would absolutely recommend it.
Many Christian universities have written high standards for Christian living while at school, and many have rules in place regarding Christian conduct. However, as one who had previously visited many Christian colleges, I can honestly say that CIU is one of the most authentic Christian universities I've ever seen, and probably the most dedicated to it's Christian living standards that I've seen. There is a friendly, uplifting, and distinctly Christian atmosphere between students and faculty alike, and while a great place to receive an education, CIU is an unbelievably friendly place to grow in one's spiritual and social life.
Within the first year of being at Columbia International University, I have thoroughly enjoyed every second of it. From the classrooms to the library to the basketball games and everything in between, yes even the all nighters I have had to pull. Although I would love for there to be more things to do on campus, I would not change this experience of attending college anywhere else.
The fall 2020 acceptance rate for Columbia International University is 35%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020 , _____ students were offered admission. The number of males who applied was _____ vs the number of females which was _____.
The most valuable lesson I have learned attending college and being around academia is that: Now I know that I don't know. Once a person (especially a young person) has admitted this simple truth to themselves they are open to learn about any new viewpoint, idea and concept. One does not have to embrace all the new material they have learned as correct, but it will never hurt someone to get a new viewpoint, after all, the world is only what we perceive it to be.
Absolutely any person who wishes to know the Lord and to make Him known to others should come to this school. This school is on fire for Christ, and God is working in this school. If you have a passion to know Him and to make Him known (to impact the nations with Christ) then this is the school for you!
The kind of person who should not attend CIU is someone who thinks that life is all about them. The reason being is that people who are out to serve themselves will not be open to learn in an enverionment like CIU.
A small Christian School devoted to equipping students with the message of Christ to take to the nations to know Him and make Him known.
My classmates are normal college kids who love Jesus.
Perhaps I would have liked to know the different issues and topics being discussed on campus, perhaps I would have liked to know the work load in some of the classes, as well as known a little more about the community so I would have been better prepared for life on campus.
CIU's worst flaw is that some a small percentage of the professors are too old to teach. While most of the professors are top notch, there are a select few who teach core classes that are close to 90 years old and will repeat themselves and give strange tests about material that was not covered in class.
Intercultural Studies program, and double major
The school is very mission minded, and has excellent training in this field. Also has a large group if international students, who add to the campus.
