I think that CUNY Medgar Evers College has great academics that are beneficial to their students. Although I wish they had more organized professors, I believe that this college would be a great fit for students who are planning to commute in New York City

Almas

Medgar Evers College is great for the most part. Most of the professors are accessible and try to help you. Some professors are very unprofessional and show no interest in teaching the class. Campus facilities are really good, especially the library. Safety is not an issue. Overall, the college is satisfactory but not wonderful.

Andrea

My school is very diverse and open. I love the professors because they are very outgoing and helpful. They want us to succeed and will help us in anyway possible. I love the environment that I am surrounding it is very open and diverse. I love trying new things. Overall the school is great but some academic departments need major work.

Kedie

Medgar is a great place. The faculty and staff is the best part. They are always accessible. I can just walk into the office of a professor, the chair, and even dean of any department and have a conversation. It can be intellectual, personal, long, or short. I love this about Medgar Evers College. It's a home. Sometimes, when I don't feel good about being ay my own home, I go to school. I trust the faculty, and I feel like I have genuine relationships with a lot of them. I am always excited to meet a new professor, and I haven't met one I dislike yet.

Well since I have become a college student now, I would encourage students to review what they really want to do for their career first and then review each school asking all the questions you could possibly can because you don't want any surprise. Make sure to apply for financial aid and how much you will be getting. Don't procrasinate on school you may feel free to do vocational school because they are faster and more career focus. I learned that and if I knew then I would have the option of making that choice.

the worst thing about my school now is that you never know whats going on if you dont ask around. there are no announcements and due to the fact that i am a freshman i feel lost most of the time. they seem to be more concerned about what clubs students need to join rather than making more programs for the studenst and give the location of where they are located in the school.

College books can be way over price and locating second hand books in fairly good condition can be very difficult. So, many times I would photo copy the pages I needed using the library reference book which were at times frustrating. One thing that i like to brag to my friends about my school is that it is a historical black school. Being older than 25 years old, this fact really helps me to deal with going back to school.
