I love the christian progressive mission. It gives me a place to learn theological scholarly work. It gives me a new perspective on the teachings of Christ. It gives me a platform to share the grace of God in the Deep South, to folks who never heard it.
I have no regrets about my decision to attend Eden. It has been a wonderful community. I have been able to enter back into academic life and have been embrassed by the faculty and staff. The academics are less challenging than my undergrad, but the diversity of the community more than makes up for it.
Overall, I'm pretty satisfied with Eden. There are some things that could be better like the food. They switched food service to Webster and from what I understand from Alumni, that took away the family atmosphere of the commons. The other thing I would change would be to have the library back on campus and not at Webster. There isn't a theological librarian and this hinders studies. Finally, to be ecumenical, open and affirming, racially and ethnically diverse, they do not have a robust major or certificate program to reflect this diversity. Last big thing, Eden does not have access to scholarships beyond the first year explorer scholarship and they sometimes can be a little heavy-handed in trying to get students to switch to the United Church of Christ, which does have scholarships.

If I were to go back in time with the hopes of enlightening young Destynee about the ways of the world, I would tell her to hit the ground running. It is important to put all your focus into one, or just a few aspects instead of trying to delve into everything all at once. I would tell young Destynee that she will find her place, but she has to be happy and fulfilled by her own means before that can happen. Even though there seems to be so many opportunities at this exact moment, if she focuses her time and energy on school, she will have more opportunities than she could dream! I would tell my young self that life is hard, and education is the one sure fire way to make everything run a little smoother. Above everything else, I would tell the Destynee of the past that friends and happiness will come naturally to those who persue their own dreams, and create their own path. Once she starts to achieve the goals she has set, the harder she'll push to reach the next. From here on out, the sky is the limit.
My school is dedicated to ensuring the most highest quality, in furthering education, and making sure that each student understands the course material.
The worst thing about my school is the construction that seems to go on constantly. If it's not the concrete being ripped up, blocking the only real way to get from the back of Webster Hall to the front, its half of the courtyard being fenced off because there's a huge hole in it. But that's the only real complaint I have with this school. The rest of it is great!

The most frustrating thing about my school, well, I love this school because it is a wonderful place to be and to meet new people, but yet, learning and discovering new aspects of one's major and understanding life.
