I love the school. It provides me with everything that I need, and it helps me to get acquainted with the city. There are so many places to visit once you leave campus, and because it's in the middle of the city, you can walk to many of these places. You don't need transportation if you go to SLU because you have the metro, and many of the places you want to go to are within walking distance. It also has many direct programs when it comes to medicine, and let me tell you, you want to get into a direct program. It will make your future easier. SLU also has one of the best graduate programs for nurses, and you can only really get into it if you attend SLU for your undergrad.

Brenna - 11/10/2021

SLU is a really fun place. It takes COVID-19 very seriously and the academics are great. SLU is also being more proactive about its history and recognizing its students' struggles. SLU is also located in beautiful Midtown St. Louis. It really is a great university. While SLU is by no means a perfect university, there are countless excellent students and staff working to improve it every day.

When you first arrive, Saint Louis University is welcoming and it is an incredible place to be. However as you spend more and more time at the university, you begin to notice more and more flaws. Although many faculty members do care about the quality of the student\'s lives, it appears that the university is a money-hungry beast that only has one thing on its mind. They typically nickel and dime students over frivolous matters go so they can fatten their pockets a little bit more. I am very grateful for the opportunities that SLU has presented to me; but without a doubt, there are countless things I would change about the university.

Chrystall - 12/27/2020

I love SLU. Initially, I thought it would be super boring because of the area around campus. But do not let that fool you, SLU has so much to offer its students. There are so many places to have fun around campus & making friends is super easy. You can always find people out at any time of night & they feel safe doing so because SLU patrol is always around, keeping the fun safe. ;)

Saint Louis University FAQS

  1. What is the Acceptance Rate at Saint Louis University?

The fall 2020 acceptance rate for Saint Louis University is 64%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020 , _____ students were offered admission. The number of males who applied was _____ vs the number of females which was _____.

  2. What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

I would tell myself to call the university and see if they still offer the major you're interested in. I couldn't get into the university of my choice because I wasn't a top ten percent student. However, they offered me a program where I attend a sister university for my freshman year and take thirty hours. I met the requirements and transfered to The University of Texas at Austin, only to find out that they discontinued zoology as a major. I feel like I worked so hard just to get into a school that doesn't teach what I want to learn. I plan to finish my basics here, but I plan on transferring again to another university. I'm a simple person who doesn't like change, but here I am - switching schools every year. Whenever I get situated in a new location, make some new friends, and get used to my surroundings, I end up leaving and starting over again. If I knew that the university didn't have my major, I would have never applied to it and I would've been much better off. This advice alone would impact my life profoundly.

  21. Where is the best place to get work done on campus?

Depends on what you are looking for. I go to Pius library a lot, which is open 24/5. The only days it closes are Friday and Saturday nights. I am a big fan of working in the Business school, because I like the background noise and breakout rooms. I go to the law library when I need to get a lot of homework done, and when I am on the medical center, I go to the med school library or our new education union student lounge. If I want to spice things up, a coffee shop called cafe Ventana is really close to my residence hall, and they serve the best chai tea lattes I've ever had.
